"You ran," Ben just smiled and nodded, accepting the small littering of kisses, like Leslie had something to make up for, shifting to sit to the side on her, twisting to keep his arm around her shoulders while doing so. "We ... agreed to be friends, and you ran while we worked together. But... we both struggled with moving on and so... you um..." She had gotten a little crazy, but Ben understood it a lot better after they'd talked, and he had to agree that even when they weren't together together, he was a whole lot happier even just being around her.
"We decided we'd rather be together and figure things out than miserable and apart. And I was, by the way, completely miserable while we were split." He bought a Batman costume for crying out loud, that was not the sort of thing he did.
"When have you ever failed at anything you set your mind to?" It wasn't flat out admission that she won, and there were a few bumps of course, but really, Ben kind of got the impression that Leslie didn't understand what 'no' meant at times.
