Who: Penelope Clearwater & Oliver Wood.
When: Saturday early evening.
Where: Oliver's flat in London.
What: Penny visits Oliver to collect the biscuits he promised and to see the gigantic basket of porn.
Rating: TBD, probably not anything more than PG-13 for language.
Open/Closed: Closed.

Excited by the prospect of baked goods to make up for Oliver accusing her of sending him gobs of porn the following evening, Penelope wasted very little time getting herself ready to floo over to her good friend's flat. Her morning, like every other, started early at around seven a.m. The first part of the day involved cleaning up from the week past and doing a bit of relaxing.

When Oliver responded to her journal entry regarding Dumbledore's retirement and mentioned that he was baking, Penelope could hardly resist asking to pay him a visit. Mostly because he was baking but also she was slightly curious to see the size of the basket of porn...if he still had it. She wasn't sure if Oliver had managed to pawn it off on someone else the previous evening or not.

It only took ten minutes for Penny to change into clothes that weren't marked with cleaning solution and grease stains and to brush out her hair, which had been put in a messy bun for the majority of the morning. Once she felt she looked good enough to be in public (even if the public in question was only Oliver), Penny stepped into her small fireplace and a minute later found herself emerging into a very familiar sitting room.

"Fatten you up? Never! I think you're quite pretty just as you are, ye know." He found a potholder and leaned over, pulling the lemon bars out of the oven and setting the pan on a rack to cool. "You're welcome to any of it. Whatever you don't take will either be eaten or brought back to the next family dinner so I can see my siblings before they're all back to Hogwarts."

He turned back to her with a grin when she mentioned icing cakes. "Oh, sweet! And cakes aren't so terribly difficult. I could teach you sometimes, if you'd like."

Oliver's comment made Penelope's face flush a deeper red color and she found herself embarrassed by it. Tentatively, she grinned and thanked him for the compliment. It wasn't that she wasn't used to compliments once in awhile, it was just that she didn't really expect that particular one from Oliver to make her blush. Subconsciously, she blamed the fact that it had been ages since she'd had any real male attention.

Shaking off her thoughts on that subject, Penelope bent over to lean her elbows on the counter top. "I'd love that. I doubt I'd be horrible at it, I just haven't had patience for baking lately. The last batch of biscuits I made came out a bit too crunchy. I like them soft, you know?"

Oliver was a bit oblivious to her blush as he moved about the kitchen, finding the frosting and the rest of the things to decorate it- sprinkles, candies, coloured icing, and the like. Tugging his wand out, it took him a few moments to send them all to the kitchen table so they could sit around it and decorate it.

"Awesome," he replied, glancing back over to her with a grin. "And I know what ye mean. They're much better when they're soft and chewy!"

Since the blush went unnoticed, Penelope carried on as if it hadn't happened in the first place. She followed the decorations to the kitchen table and pulled up a chair. There were so many things and Penny felt like a little kid who was about to help her mother (or father) with something for the first time. She nearly rubbed her hands together in a ready-to-get-down-to-busy sort of way, but managed to resist the temptation.

"I've been long harboring a desire to be one of those people who make and decorate wedding cakes for a living," she informed Oliver randomly.

"Have you really?" he asked, looking back to her with a playful smile. "My mum probably could have if she wanted, but..she seemed happy enough to just make cakes for us. And we were more than happy to eat them- I remember one time, I was about..four or five, and she let us have cake for dinner..I don't think I slept a wink that whole night." Oliver smiled faintly at the memory, and he slid into a seat at the table, reaching for the frosting to cover the cake before they decorated it.

"That's a pretty fantastic mum you have," Penelope sighed wistfully, "I wish my mother had been more open to giving me loads of sugar before bed. My grandparents were more the ones who spoiled me rotten like that."

Penny pulled one of the jars of sprinkles toward her and examined it, "You know, I reckon that sprinkles are one of the best decorations out there. You just can't go wrong with pouring them on everything."
