Searching (Kitty)

Hank was glad to be in the City, though honestly he was worried about Fred. He'd left a message for her at the tower, asking her to call or text him when she got in, and he'd gone out with a telescope and some improvised satellite equipment to examine the sky and search for any sign of the planet. He couldn't tell if the City was turned away from it or if he was one the wrong side to see it, or if it wasn't there anymore, but he did want to look.

He found himself quickly in a park, and set up his equipment, dressed in a t-shirt and pair of loose jeans. He wasn't bothering with the image inducer, the people of the City weren't skittish enough to warrant it for unnecessary use.

He was glad to be back in a better civilization, of course, with more food and comforts. But he was worried about his friends, and about the other Fred he had met. She was much like the Fred he knew and he'd felt an extreme affection for her from almost the first moment they'd met, and he wanted to find her again if he could.

Perhaps it would all be in vain, after all the City had a way of making you do or be where it wanted you to, so it was up to it to determine his success or not. In the meantime he could only hope for the best and do what he could.

A Nibble (Enigma)

Eric was hunting. The reasons behind his hunting were not so much for nourishment, as he was kept pretty nourished by Baba's blood, but for the different blood. Partly, perhaps, also because he was hoping to draw the attention of a certain human. Eric very much wanted to face the Human Bill again, with those silver knives and silver bullets, and show them man just how useless those things were now.

He had done his best to not show that he had that weakness when he'd come into contact with the metal, but even with a thousand years under his belt, he didn't think that it would have gone unnoticed entirely. The fact that the man just carried around that kind of stuff also irritated Eric. He very much wanted the Human Bill to begin to doubt every trick he knew. The day walking had already done that somewhat, but there had still been silver in that meeting.

Even though he wanted to gain that eye, Eric wasn't going to be stupid about things. He wouldn't be blatant or obvious. He wouldn't feed in an open area. He wouldn't just attack somebody in the street. All he was looking for was a reason for the Human Bill to start a fight should he happen down another alleyway. Something that he couldn't ignore. At this point, Eric thought that he might walk away from a chance encounter, having had two rather painful interactions with the same vampire. But the Viking knew that the man would not be able to ignore somebody being fed on. That had seemed to really tick him off the first time.

He walked the streets at a human pace, looking at faces and inhaling the scents of those whom he passed, seeking somebody who was not City-born.
