The end of the universe (Baba)

Hannibal was having too much fun with life.

Everything seemed to have settled down in the City. It was only a matter of time, he was sure. But there was nothing significant wrong with anything at the moment. He'd heard nothing more from either of the detectives who had come to question him and Simon about the spread of the zombie disease. He'd also heard nothing from Wilson, that pompous blowhard. The threatened demands to check in hadn't been enforced. Not that Hannibal had been doing much in the way of straying outside of the lines recently.

Just trying to get the monkey mortal again.

He did want to discuss as much with Simon. He thought that his compatriot would have some information from technologies Hannibal didn't know about that could be helpful to this goal. It would please Hannibal to no end to take the monkey back to Captain Jack Sparrow and watch as the pirate shot it for the final time. A reward from Hannibal in payment of the great amounts of fun that he'd had with the monkey Jack.

He moved easily though the crowds on the sidewalks, fluidly. Finding it hard to become irritated even with those who were blatantly not watching where they were going, walking in the middle of the traffic flow, and sneering at anybody who they ran into. They day was just too good.

At a sidewalk flower stand, Hannibal stopped and drew out a long black tulip. He smelled deeply of the flower's perfume and then paid the vendor for it. Why not.
