Not Happening [ open ]

It wasn't so much that Crowley felt the earth quake as much as he noticed his Bentley shift suddenly and unexpectedly on the street. Nor was it so much that he bothered with more than a 'what the?' until it came a second and a third time. By then it had become an annoyance.

Someone was shaking the earth. Or at the very least, shaking The City.

Crowley pulled over, lest he hit someone, opened the door and proceeded to get out and look around. What he saw, as he lifted his sunglasses, didn't please him. Quite the opposite. It filled him with a sort of dread.

Very little surprised him anymore, or so he had thought until he came to The City. His entire transplantation to the City was bizarre enough - leaving him a touch homesick even though he had his flat in perfect order. Then there was the woman who seemed to seek some sort of sexual relations with him, and the girl who called herself a 'scientist' while staring at him as if he were of another world (never mind that he actually was) and now a monster.

But not just any monster. The City had to go an provide itself some large lizard / dinosaur looking thing. Which by large was meant gargantuan.

The first thought that crossed the demon's mind was that he should get in his car and keep moving before the Bentley got destroyed again. The second, and slightly more verbal thought, came out as a stern and disbelieving, "No." Nothing more. Nothing less.

Stumbling Drunk [ open ]

Mad Sweeney was drunk.

Not just drunk. Soused. Completely and utterly shit-faced. It didn't help his cause at all that he made an event of trailing from bar to bar, having his share of whiskey and cokes at each, before growing bored and moving along to the next one with a playful hum and a fist ready for a fight if anyone should cross him the wrong way.

Too bad Sweeney was in no condition to put up a fight if it was actually presented to him. He wobbled and swayed as he walked, feeling like the earth was betraying him entirely and his ability to move correctly. But it was no fault other than his own and the man formerly known as Suibhne Geilt would know that the second he sobered. Which at this rate could be weeks or months into the future.

"Tu... ra... lur... a... leh..." he sang softly, considering at this point moving along to his next destination. "Is has been a fine time, my friends, but I must move on." The ground suddenly shook and Sweeney gripped the table to keep his balance. Then it shook again, his long and gangly legs nearly buckling beneath him. "I bid you... adieu."

The earth continued to shake in bursts. Confused, Sweeney stood still for a second. As still as he could which meant he was still swaying from side to side.

"Earthquake!" He shouted suddenly, ran for the doorway and pressed his hands and feet to the frame.

On the case (tag: Liz, Xanadu)

Sure it was just down the street, but why not take the ECTO-1? She'd been collecting dust for the last few weeks. Time to open her up and tear around the City with the lights and sirens. Wake up the neighbors.

"Watch this," Peter said smugly to his new employee in the passenger seat. Already going at about forty miles per hour down city streets, he made a hard right turn at an intersection. When the heavy equipment atop the car might have ordinarily caused it to roll, the hydraulics automatically kicked in. Lifting the left side of the car on the outside of the turn, it countered the shifting mass, then set it down gently again as the car resumed a straight drive. Peter laughed in triumph. "Ha ha! Man, I love being a Ghostbuster!"

A block later they had arrived at their destination: some kind of head shop. Peter was used to these places - Ray and Egon owned one during their brief unemployment phase - but that didn't stop him from looking around with bemused fascination as he entered.
