Aftermath (Fray/Wes)

Jesse sat before Fray and the man named Wes.

He had a lot of questions that he wanted to ask, but wasn't sure if now was the right time. They might be things he should talk to just her about, later. Like why was it that this guy who was supposed to be protecting her had put her in a situation with three vampires when she seemingly had no access to her powers.

And what was with that, too?

He'd been fairly silent since they'd left the scene, and was silent now, still. They were sitting at a table in front of a small coffee shop. He hadn't ordered anything, and didn't really feel like it. There was much on his mind.

Like what might have happened to Mel if he hadn't shown up when he did. Would this guy have even helped her? Was he even capable of helping her? He didn't really seem like it. Not when they were so outnumbered.

Maybe he was being too overprotective. Maybe this was something that Slayers went through all the time.

Carefully, Jesse edged his cigarette pack out of his pocket. Played with it a minute, and then finally slid one of the smokes out and between his lips.

BODY FOUND, FINALLY IDENTIFIED

Telly Mainstiem

A man found dead a few weeks ago by a young girl in the park has been identified as John Coffey, a man who many knew, and loved. Coffey helped out at the City Hospital, and some said, he had miracle hands. Able to heal those who were even gravely ill with just a gentle touch. Those we interviewed claimed that Coffey wasn't the sort of man to have enemies, that he was widely loved by everybody he came into contact with.

Coffey was found by Marissa Johnson three weeks ago when she was with her family in the park. The coroner stated that he'd been dead a week by the time he was discovered, and that a single gunshot wound to his head was the cause of his death.

With no records of any kind for the man, it took police a full three weeks to discover his identity, and were only able to crack the case when they got a lead about a missing man. They'd been told that this man wandered off a lot, and forgot where he was supposed to be, but if they saw him, they were to guide him back to the hospital. They matched a hospital surveillance camera image to the body they had in the morgue.

Little is known about the man named John Coffey, just that he helped many in The City and was gentle and kind. It is estimated that Coffey was in his mid thirties.

A funeral will be held on Tuesday, July first. All those who knew him are invited to attend.

Deep Breath (Open)

Elizabeth didn't understand everything Dean had told her, and really she was lucky to remember it was Dean who told her anything and not a purple mongoose from the bottom of a bottle of whatever they were drinking. What was it called? She couldn't recall. It was good though. After she'd returned to the Pearl and freshened up Elizabeth really wanted to tackle this whole, land boat thing. She'd have asked Dean if she could remember where it was he was.

But then again, Man loved his boat as much as Jack did.

And then there was Jack. Elizabeth hadn't seen him and did she want to? What was there to SAY to Jack? I love you? Lets get married? He didn't want to be tied down did he? Elizabeth was leaning against the rail of the Black Pearl. Looking down at the docks. This place was strange and unnatural. She'd left a battle behind. It wasn't right. She adjusted her hat for the third time and quirked a curious brow towards this.. The City.

She missed Port Royal. She missed her crew. She didn't miss Will. She should have missed Will. How could Will have played turncoat on all of them? Just to save his father? His father had gone crazy. Insane. He'd killed James!

James. She missed James.

She really needed to find Jack and find a way out of here.
