[info]warrior_woman in [info]we_coexist

Life was easier when all she had to do was steal [open to Dresden]

Jack had been left behind, and the three were getting further and further away. How could three men who looked as if they rarely got out of that van of theirs out distance her? Sure, she wasn't some tracker who'd done this for a living, seeing as she was more the first mate and soldier variety, but the warrior woman didn't think three geeks, was that the word?, could lose her so easily.

Zoe stopped at a crossroads, her lips pursing. Even if the superstition was from ETW, or at least somewhere that had land, there was something disturbing about an intersection. Then again, it could simply be that there were way too many vehicles creating the traffic rather than living beings - horses, humans, live stock. The fact that the three men, two of which she could clearly see over the heads of others, were getting away because she had to stop for a damned light...

The Amazon removed a child from her way, carefully, only upsetting the mother a little. There was no way she'd lose one of the last things she had from her home. Plus, it might have made crossing the street a little easier. She waited until the flow of traffic looked a little healthier before making her way across. Unfortunately, the child she'd taken care to put out of harms way, thought how fun it might be to follow the tall woman. The scream from the mother caught Zoe's ears, and being that she wasn't one to care for women screaming, she turned quickly to see the child and the car that was barreling down the street at it.

Decisions, decisions. As if Zoe ever had one to make. She leaped for the child and prayed to all that was holy that she rolled out of the way in time.
