	Perhaps these friends of Rose's should try a little harder to show that they care about her. You may see this as me encouraging her to runaway from her problems. I see it as actually doing something to ensure that she is emotionally healthy. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Really? Because you just made it sound like I didn't try hard enough to show that I care. I wasn't the one that vanished. I wasn't the one that completely cut ties because it was too hard for me. No. I got to pick up the pieces. I got to deal with the lose of the two most important people to me, not just one, but both. Oh, after Adrian and I saved her. Of course though. If it isn't about Rose it doesn't matter does it? I would have been there for her, supported her and I never did blame her for what happened. Abandoning me and leaving me because it was all about her, it always is.

She is not as selfish as you are making her out to be. When she vanished it was because she couldn't bear to look at you knowing what she had done. What she had taken from you. And you forgiving her so easily did more harm than good. You may see that as it being all about her but it isn't. She was doing it for you.

In Rose's mind she was the monster. The villain. She felt undeserving of your freely given forgiveness. In her mind you had every right to blame her. Christian's blood would forever stain her hands. A part of her would even wish that you hadn't saved her. Death would have been far better than living. Seeing her everyday would be a constant reminder to you of what you had lost.

Perhaps she should have told you why she needed to go away. Explain that she needed the time to find forgiveness. Not from you or anyone else. Rose needed to find forgiveness within herself. If that is selfish. Then so be it. I dare you to find anyone who isn't then. Perhaps she should have also made it clear that she wasn't abandoning you, her dearest and oldest friend.

But when you've taken a life that was important to someone close to you...you can't. I know all too well what was going through Rose's mind. You are filled with self loathing and all you can do is close yourself off. A wall gets thrown up to protect you from the possibility of seeing hatred in their eyes. Because believe me that pain is unlike any you'll ever experience. And you will carry it with you always.

You are assuming a lot of how I feel, and you are the one that just said that her friends didn't show that they cared about her.

She did abandon me.

I am so tired of being made out to be the one that isn't good enough to her. She's the one that ignored me, cut me off for months, but I'm the bad guy because she needed time to forgive herself and I got left to pick up the pieces and grieve losing both of them basically? I got to arrange a funeral and stand there without her, I had to keep going and wasn't stolen away to some Island. No, I kept living and trying to move forward, alone, but I'm clearly the selfish one.

I know she's your best friend, but please stop making it out like I didn't care enough or I wasn't understanding enough. It's almost like whatever I've had to try and deal with doesn't matter, because it is so much worse for her. At least that's the impression I get. I'm the one who is clearly in the wrong and doesn't understand or isn't sympathetic enough. I risked my life for hers and I'm the bad guy. Fine.
