Well, I suppose it's because I think until someone wrongs me personally then they're at least worth trying to get to know. And even then it depends on how exactly they've hurt me. I spent a very long time being nice to my Sherlock even when he treated me horribly, probably even when he didn't deserve it. I'm willing to at least be friendly unless you give me a reason not to be.

	I agree. I think the world would be better if that was the case. No, not at all. With me and a lot of the people I've seen you chat with, you come across as very...real, I suppose. Really? Well...thanks. I guess it's just...well, some people seem to think I'm playing at being human or I'm trying to win some ridiculous popularity contest or something. I don't feel that way, though. I just know I've got certain rules I've got to play by or end up trapped in some basement I can't get out of or something and I wanted things to be different here. So I made it different.

I guess it just bothers me because one of those people is my brother.

That's what I want to do. To make things different and yeah, it means curbing a lot of things, keeping a lot of things in check. I don't deny what I am, but apparently I'm hiding behind a mask or something according to some people. I'm not looking for redemption, I'm really not, because I have no guilt for the things I've done in the past, except the running, leaving my family behind because things got bad. I just wanted to make things better here.

Surprisingly, I understand. I have another friend here who I gather did very bad things where he's from. I don't know specifics so I don't know if he regrets them or not. He could be that way here, just like you could, but he's not. I don't think either of you are being fake because you accept your past, blemishes and all, and don't let that determine the future you have here. And in your case, the fact you have such strength and willpower to keep yourself in check shows me just how badly you want this second chance. If you were just playing human you wouldn't care that much.

I'm not particularly fond of either of them, though I will admit that's mostly because of the way I've seen them interact with others on the boards. I don't know them very well, but I can assume your brother's opinion holds quite a bit of weight with you.

	It's sort of sad someone who doesn't know me very well gets it better than my own brother. I don't have anything to go back to. I go home, I'm dead, stuck on the Other Side, which apparently ends up destroyed from what I hear, so I really go back to literally nothing. I want whatever time I have here to count for something. I've been told I'm quite perceptive at times. And I'm sorry for that, that the world you'd end up going back to would be so horrible for you. I think it definitely is in your best interest to make every second count in that case.

Well, he's family. It's always important what your family thinks, whether you want it to be that way or not. But I've found the people I've chosen as friends who I'm close enough to that I consider them family...I find their opinions begin to mean more to me. Maybe one day his disapproval of you won't hurt you so much because the approval of others will matter more.

I do hope that he changes his mind about the rest of you, because I think it's only going to hurt everyone in the long run if he insists that. I'll admit I don't know much about what all of you have been through, just bits that I can glimpse on the boards, but it sounds as though there's a lot of hurt in your family. Disowning people never solves anything. It just causes more hurt, and at the very least Henrik doesn't need that.
