I loved her, and the fact she did not love me did not change that.

Acre was moment of madness I will be paying for for the rest of my life. I'm happy with Rose. I am. But every moment I am I feel guilty for it, because I should not be. Every time you say that you trust me its worse, because you should not. When Vaisey's ghost was here, he didn't say anything I didn't already know to be truth

Do you know how hard it is for me? And yet I have put it in the past. I have let it go and am trying to build a life with her. A life stolen from us time and again.

I don't want to be reminded that in my future at home she is stolen from me in a place that in my mind is already enough of a hell.

But despite that I have put trust in you. And you've not done the same.

I will always feel for her. As you say, feelings like that do not vanish so easily.

Rose knows that, she feels the same about another. But that does not lessen what we have. I know that it is you Marian loves, I have known that since she punched me and ran from our wedding. I couldn't accept it though, not back home. Here is different, perhaps without poisoned words in my ear, perhaps without being feared and hated, things have changed.

And yet I don't know quite how to trust you.

Back home it took a mutual enemy which I suppose we have here. It took this, it took talking about it.

Perhaps its that I do not know how to trust?
