[Filtered against Baddies]
OKAY. So, we got a rush of newbies today! I've talked to a couple of you, but there's just so darn many that I'm just making a whole new explain-y post in case some of you missed some things.
Okay, for one: You're here because there's this demon that wants to bring on the end of the world. She broke a biblical seal to start the biblical apocalypse. The sort that involves Lucifer rising and all of that. The seal seems to have broken the barriers between realities and, well, time. Which sounds crazy, yes, but it's still true. Also, these are not demons that you can just stabby kill. They possess regular people and walk around in their bodies, and they have to be trapped in a special way and exorcised. No, you don't have to be a priest or anything to do it, you just have to be able to say the Latin. I run classes every day to help people learn the trap and the Latin involved.
Also, we have an apartment complex set up, free of charge, for the non-evils and non-demons. It has top of the line security in all ways. From salt lines and the special traps that keep the local demons out, to holy fire to keep the jerkoff angels out (because some of the angels around here aren't exactly so nice), to an actual high tech security system to keep human badguys out. We have a med bay for anyone who needs tending to, though most of us aren't that great with the medical stuff because our resident doctor isn't here any more, but it's there if anyone needs basic tending to.
Like I said, I run classes every day for learning the Latin and the traps. Buffy, who co-runs the building with me, runs classes every day for learning self defense. And Romana, one of our other residents, is about done setting up a schooling system for anyone who doesn't have a high school diploma yet.
Also, I feel that now is a good time to say that it seems we have a lot of faces that seem familiar to us, but aren't on the body of the person we know. We have lookalikes here. So yeah. It throws all of us off, believe me.
And if someone says "Hey, I'm so and so" and you think "Noooooo, that's from a movie/book/comic/tv show/WHATEVER", it's really them. Different worlds, remember?
Any questions?
Edit: Because it's been asked: Sadly, we can't contact people from the worlds we're from. I know, it sucks. There's a lot of people I want to check on.
And because it's bound to be asked: We haven't found a way home yet. Every once in a while, people get sent home seemingly at random. We don't know why they're picked or how it's done. But not for lack of trying. And every once in a while people get sent home and then brought back here again, which is even more rare. Except in the case of Faith. Three times? Really? And now we had to get the ev
Edit 2: AND! Just for handy sake, the address of the complex is [address]. Plus [imaginary map of Lawrence with a pretty little star on the apartment building].
Edit 3: OH GOD. I FORGOT SOMETHING. We have these amulets free at the apartment. We'll give them to you. As long as you wear it, none of the demons around here can possess you. So they're VERY important. You can also get the design tattooed onto you, or ask Clary nicely to do it her way, which is different from getting a tattoo but just as permanent.
Don't go being all demandy about stuff like that. She doesn't have to do it, but she's offering it. Just like the rest of this. We've had people get super demandy before and all it did was lead to drama. We have enough of that with the demons as it is, we don't need to add to it.
