Who: Marian and Robin
What: Reunion of sorts
When: Early Afternoon
Where: The Library
Rating: TBD
Status: Complete

Marian brushed a curl back from her face, the loose bun not really keeping a hold of the curls all that well. She finished soon, that she was a little glad of. She had to come in rather early that morning and as fantastic as this place could be, it had been a little too quiet. Until five minutes ago, of course, when one of the girls who worked there with her realised Marian was leaving in twenty minutes so thought now would be a good time to pile her with the books that had to get put away. At least she didn't have to carry them, these little trolley things really were fantastic. She could get this done in no time, if she could just get to the right aisle.

She only had a couple more to put back, so she stopped next to where they kept the computers to fix the cream blouse she had on, the silk making her grin. Clothes were so easy to get now, and she rather appreciated the money she got from working here that allowed her to buy such nice things. Just as she was about to start pushing the trolley again a rather familiar face caught her attention from the corner of her eye. A grin split across her face as she found it difficult to breathe for a second.

"Robin?" she said quiet enough that it wouldn't bother others here, but loud enough that he wouls hear.

Marian was glad they had everything he would need for tonight and tomorrow morning. Soon, she was leading him to the building where they would live, a very strange thought. They would live together. Like they were meant to. It would take her a while to get use to that thought.

"So, this place we're going. There's a rather tall building that has been set up for people like us who have just been brought here from different points, different years. There will...probably be things in it that you're not familiar with but don't worry you'll get use to it eventually," she said with a smile before walking in. "I can show you around properly in the morning.

She walked up to where she got her room when she arrived, smiling before glancing at Robin. Perhaps they would both prefer this idea? She knew she would.

"I was wondering if you had any of the double bedrooms left? Just, if it's possible, if I could move out of my room and into one of those with him."

She smiled and gave her name and Robin's before watching as the woman moved to to get the key for them. "I thought you might prefer that arrangement to having a room yourself. There's two bedrooms, so we don't have to worry about that right now. I'll just need to take the things from my room along to ours."

He had to laugh when she said there were likely to be unfamiliar things where they were going. There was very little about this place that was familiar; and the building she finally led him to was no exception. He glanced around the large entry room, but did not get to take in much before Marian had stopped before what he guessed was a desk of sorts, and asked the woman seated there about moving out of her room and into a shared one. Shared with him.

Her request surprised him, and he was about to ask her about it when she explained her thinking to him. She was not mistaken about his preference there, although she apparently was assigning a concern to him that he did not have. "Who's worried about a number of bedrooms?" he asked lightly. Then, because he was starting to feel that he had pressed his luck thus far, added, "The last time we lived together, we shared a bedroom with four other people."

As much as he would rather not be serious right now, he was still very pleased that she had thought of this, and so soon after his arrival. He bent down and kissed her on the cheek, softly murmuring, "Thank you" in her ear.

He would have figured out having his own room here, but he was glad she wanted him to live with her.

She looked up at him at his question, her eyebrow raised a little. Then when he continued she nodded a little. But in her mind, camp was different. And they hadn't shared a bunk, she had found herself in the bunk that had been used by Allan before. Well...in most cases anyway. Occasionally she would fall asleep in his arms and wake up still in his warm embrace with Much giving them suspicious looks.

"But that was at camp. This...well for now this is our home."

She couldn't stop that little grin from spreading across her features. Their home. Their own home to live in with each other. It was something she always wanted and it seemed she would get it, even if they weren't married yet and it wasn't Locksley. But it was their's. That was all that mattered.

Her smile only got wider when he kissed her cheek, shaking her head at his thanks. She should thank him for not disagreeing with the idea. She quite liked the thought of being close to him. Marian smiled when the key was past over, along with one of the amulets she had asked for. Ah, she had forgotten to explain that to him.

"These are meant to protect us from being...possessed by those demon things everyone is worried about. They say it's for our own good we wear one," she said before pulling her own out to show she had one too.

lthough it was not a surprise, it still stung a little that she had apparently never seen the outlaws' camp as her home. Will's ingenious work had afforded the gang the closest thing to a home that they might ever have again, and was a a huge improvement over the constant moving about they had done the year prior to its construction.

But it was a far cry from either Marian's own home, or Nottingham Castle. As different as it was from the buildings they had known before, it was closer to what she was used to than his forest dwelling.

And anyway, her smile was infectious, and he shoved the thoughts aside, focusing as always on the matter at hand. At least, in this case, the matter at hand was an entirely pleasant one.

Accepting the amulet from her, Robin nodded. "There was mention of these on the computer." It still seemed rather absurd, but it could not hurt to put the thing on. As he did, it tangled with the string of his outlaw tag, and he had another recollection. "It also said the design could be tattooed on, I think; did you not want to go that route?" He winked at her.

She smiled as he took the amulet from her, laughing as it got tangled up. On automatic, she moved and reached up to untangle them before tucking both under his shirt. It was only when she stepped back she realised exactly what she had done. She couldn't help it, it was her reaction to him. Anything that may annoy him or anything that had to be fixed she wanted to fix it.

But then he was asking about the tattoo version and she laughed at his question. She had heard that tattoo's could hurt and had no desire to go through unnessecary pain.

"I see no need to add something to my skin when I can get the exact thing to put around my neck."

She didn't mind just wearing it and wouldn't complain about it if it did keep her safe. Smiling at him, she gestured to the stairs before she walked to them.

"We can go to our room and put the bags in and have a look, then I'll need to move the things from my room."

It would take a while, but she had no problem with that.

Her fingers untangling the strings at his neck felt nicer than they had a right to, and he was glad when she laughed at his joke.

"I would have been quite surprised if you had gotten a tattoo, Marian," he remarked, wondering what she would think of his. He was still not entirely certain what he had been thinking when he got it; he had been incredibly drunk at the time. The shadow of the Cross, its center marking the place where she had sewn up the wound inflicted by an arrow shortly after he was outlawed, had made sense to his inebriated mind. In fact, he did not regret having gotten it; he only wished it made more sense to him now, after the fact.

He followed her to a staircase, suddenly experiencing a rush of excitement. It was similar to what he felt before a really well-planned heist, but even better, since there was only hope here-- no danger.

Well, apparently there was danger, but this was supposed to be a safe area, and he did not feel threatened. Completely out of his element, yes. Threatened, no.

"So would I," she said with a nod.

She really did doubt she would ever do such a thing. She was fine just the way she was, and didn't really want to add anything to her skin. She smiled when he followed, glad that the room they had been given was on the same floor as her old one. That meant that she wouldn't have to journey all that far to bring her things there.

Soon, they were on the floor and she pointed to her room. "That's where I was staying, but we can get there later."

Leading him to the door to where they would be staying, she could already feel the butterflies in her stomach. It was how she imagined she would feel the day she married him, their first day in Locksley together. Excited and nervous. Clearing her throat, she took the bags from him before placing the key in his hand.

"On you go," she said with a smile.

Robin was very interested to see Marian's current abode, and part of him was suddenly homesick for Locksley Manor, where he always thought they would end up-- until recently, that was. But still, there was something so thrilling about making a totally new home together, and when she handed him the key, he could not resist grabbing her up in an excited hug and kissing her soundly before setting her down so that he could open the door.

The shape of the key was a bit more complicated than he was used to, but he got the lock open on the second try. Pushing the door open, he bowed to her, holding an arm out. "After you, milady." He considered carrying her across the threshold, but being that she had requested that he consider them betrothed yet, decided against it.

At first.

But in the end, he could not resist, and swung her up into his arms before walking into the room.

Marian laughed when he picked her up but her laugh was soon silenced when his lips came to hers. Kissing back just as much, she grinned up at him when he put her down. Her eyes stayed on him the entire time he tried to open the door, not wanting to tell him how to do it. It was easy enough, he would manage it.

She laughed as he bowed, rolling her eyes playfully before taking one step forward. She didn't get any further than that before she was in his arms, the bags staying in one hand and her other arm wrapped around his shoulders as she laughed, letting him carry her. It was more associated with the wedding night, she knew that, but she wasn't going to stop him.

"You can put me down now," she said with a grin even though her head fell to his shoulder.

He was too captivated by the woman grinning up at him from his arms to even notice the room. "And if I would rather not?" he murmured. Unable to resist another kiss first, he finally set her down, keeping an arm around her waist as he looked about.

"This is nice," he commented. Taking the bags from her and setting them aside, he asked, "Shall we look around?"

"Then I guess I would have to worry about being held captive by an outlaw," she said before accepting the kiss, her free hand snaking into his hair.

Then he was putting her down but still held her close, her own arm staying on his shoulder. She nodded at his comment, the butterflies setting up again. It was theirs, she still couldn't come to terms with that.

"Yes," she said with a grin before taking his hand. "In the room I use to be in was a lot smaller than this."

The room they stood in was fairly straightforward; there were a couple of things Robin was not able to identify, but the seating and table were clear enough. However, the next room they looked into was less-discernable. He got the cupboards, but if it had not been for the countertop, he would have been baffled. "Kitchen?" he guessed, not very confident of that. With a laugh and a shake of his head, he said, "You'll have to explain some of this to me."

The bedchambers were less ornamental than the ones he had grown up with, but were significantly more impressive than the bunk he'd had in the forest. The smaller of the two chambers opened onto an outdoor area, and he was momentarily very conscious of the indoor air. The air outside smelled quite different than he was accustomed to, but it was still closer to Sherwood than what was in here. "Would you mind if I took this one?" If she would rather have it, he would not argue, but he hoped she would not.

"Well done," she said with a laugh. "Don't worry, it's fine once you get use to it."

Then they got to the bedrooms and she smiled a little. After sleeping in the same room as she tried to relax in, it was nice to have them seperate. The smaller one led out to the balcony, another entrance coming from the living area, and she knew he was going to ask before he did.

"Of course I don't mind," she said with a smile, before wrapping her arms around his neck. "Welcome home."

Not only did she agree, but she also gave him the sweetest hug. "Welcome home to you, too," he said as his arms slid around her without any conscious thought. However, her words did get him thinking of the fact that not a few hours ago, "home" had meant something very different, and that he had thought he would never have one with her. Those thoughts were quickly replaced by the awareness of how she felt against him and that there was a very convenient bed nearby, and that they would not be interrupted by fellow outlaws or sheriff's guards--

Giving her a quick squeeze, he stepped back and smiled as innocuously as possible at her. "Shall I help you retrieve your things?"

She smiled as he returned the hug, letting her arms tighten around him and her head fall to his chest. She felt safe, as she always did in his arms, and part of her didn't want to let go. But soon he was the one releasing hers and she nodded at his question.

"Thank you. There's not much anyway."

He glanced back into the bedchamber before following her out, an unbidden image of how she would look stretched out on the bed popping into his mind. One half of his brain, already feeling guilty to his behavior in the library, chastised himself for it. The other half pointed out that he had thought her forever lost to him, and should not take this second (third?) chance for granted.

Sighing at his conflicting thoughts, and aware he would be behaving himself, he followed after her.

She made sure that the door stayed open when she walked out, to save them the trouble of trying to open the door when they brought things back. Leading him to her old room, she put the key in before opening the door to reveal a much smaller apartment.

"Just some clothes and books, and I have some food in the kitchen. Wont take long."

There was not much in the way of decoration, but there was still a lived-in feel to this smaller place that made Robin instantly like it. Or, maybe it was just knowing that Marian had been living here.

"What would you like me to take?"

At the mention of food, his stomach rumbled. He had not had anything to eat since that broth of Tuck's in the cave, which was... well, the better part of a millenium ago, he thought with a chuckle. He did not wish to take food that she would need, though, so he merely waited for her instructions.

Marian glanced around before moving to grab a few bags she had kept by. They could carry things in them at different times, and perhaps the food would best be left unitl the end so it could be put away straight away. Nodding to the few books, a couple on history and a few fictional books, she smiled at him before moving to the closets so she could dump the clothes in the bags.

"You could carry those through? The five of them together may be a little heavy but you can handle that I'm sure," she said with a grin before starting to put the clothes in the bags. Except from the underwear, of course. That could wait until he had gone. "I'll follow with the clothes then you can come help with the food and things?"

The books were not that heavy, although he almost dropped them when he noticed the one on top. The picture on the front depicted a misty forest in the background, peaks of a castle peering through the treetops. In the foreground was a tree with a woman plastered up against it, her head flung back, her hands braced on either side of her, and the bodice of her dress hanging indecently low-- no mean feat, since the rest of it clung to her torso. One of her legs was exposed, her foot drawn up and braced against the tree trunk. Leaning over her was a large man without a shirt, one hand braced above her head, the other clutching a bow. Scrawled across the top in gold was the title, Lord of the Forest.

She had not been lying. And she had apparently found a story that was closer to home than he had expected.

When he glanced up at her in surprise, the movement sent the top two books sliding onto the floor, and Lord of the Forest landed facedown, displaying something written on the back. Picking it up, he was surprised to see their own names, as well as mention of the Sheriff and Gisborne. He was pleased to note that neither apparently figured very well; still, to say he was shocked was an understatement. Not in a bad way, but it went against what he had thought he knew about Marian.

He would not bring it up now. He would wait for that moment.

If he could figure out what to say.

After restoring the pile of books, he said, "I can carry more than this. Want me to get those bags?"

Marian turned to look when she heard the clatter, frowning a little. She didn't expect that and her heart started to race at the shock she had. Laughing softly, she turned back to the closet and finished putting the clothes she could put away in his presence in the bag.

"You don't have to," she said with a smile, standing to grab the bags, before facing him with a smile. "If you can manage, then sure."

Slinging the books onto one arm, he went over and snagged the bags before Marian could get them, winking at her as he did. "I think I can manage." His hands were kind of full now, so he added, "I'll just take these over, and then come back to help with the rest."

Marian smiled before giving his cheek a soft kiss. "Thank you."

She watched as he leaved before she quickly moved to where she kept her underwear and her sleepwear, quickly bundling them in the bag before following him, moving to drop the bag on her bed, smiling as he did the same.

"Food now, there's not much there anyway."

Robin frowned slightly at her remark about the food. He had begun to assume that it would be easier to come by in this world, which was obviously more prosperous than the one he had just left; apparently, he had been mistaken.

Well, he was used to going hungry. There was enough in the way of comfort here to more than make up for it. At least he would not be cold once the weather turned, nor would the roof above his head drip on him when it rained.

"Let's collect it, and then perhaps we can talk?" he suggested.

"Sure," she said with a little smile.

She was glad that they would be able to talk without a rush for once, without worrying about having to get back to the castle, or being caught. Walking back to the room, she grabbed another bag before smiling at him.

"I was going to go get some more food tomorrow, so there's not as much as usual."
