It broke.

The magic, the spell, she felt it, she could feel it slipping and finally shattering, but that was okay. She didn’t need it anymore. Didn’t need the shroud over the past. Not when she was this close. There was nothing Buffy could even do anymore. Glory had called her minions to her, apart from the ones keeping her Key from focusing that pretty green energy on anything that might let her escape, the girl would be bruised and beaten by now. There were her minions who loved her, frickin worshipped her because she was awesome, and there were the crazies. And no Troll God's Hammer, she knew that for sure. Stupid Buffy, where had she gotten a hammer

But she didn’t have it here. No Hammer, no Godly lame. She wasn't worried. And she’d watch for construction machinery.

She was dressed in simple robes, a concession to Ben for when they got home. He was a treacherous little snit when he wanted to be, had fallen right into the fold the second time around like a good little host body. He might even do well back home, and she could totally end him if he did betray her. But she didn’t think that he would. He’d accepted her. He’d gotten Dawnikins.

She waited nervously tapping her foot, Dawn was chained to a wall not far from her, soon she’d be ready, she’d worked so hard on this, On the seal. The one right in Lawrence. It wasn’t visible but it made her tingly to be near, Dawn’s blood, and the right magic would tear it apart. They were so close to completion, so ready to bleed the little brat, only a few minutes now, a few short minutes and she would be home.

And there would be no robot fooling her this time, Not again. Even if there HAD been one. Stupid robot girl had slowed her down.
“Hey Dawnie...you doing okay over there sweetie? I know its got to suck. But I had to lock you down. You know you’d only try to run. And I don’t want to hurt you. I mean...y’know. Till I bleed you. Cause that right there...that’s gonna hurt like a bitch, and be slow. But you know that from last time don’t you? I mean he even says he's sorry for hurting you and all, but not being real. You'll be happier as energy I swear. You'll be doing what you're supposed to do, what you were MADE to do. Isn't that better...And your sister will follow you to death anyway so you don't even need to worry. Bitch has it coming. I have a list. Wrecking ball jerk is on it too. Pity the glinda-witch isn't here. I'd have fun with her. Can mess up her girl again though"

"Um...Your most divine and well accessoriedness in whose splendiferious radiance we bask eternal? Might I interrupt your magnificance’s taunting?"

Aw Jinx. He was totally her favourite. She looked down and patted him on his creepy bumpy little minion head

"What is it, are they here...?"

"We think they are nearby yes..."

Glory grinned and grabbed one of her prettier swords. This would be fun. She was about to dismiss the minion when she thought about something very important, very very. How could she have forgotten?

"Do I look good Jinxy, Do I look ready to go home?!!." she asked him with a beaming grin that was ready to turn at any second. He’d better answer right. He was so gonna be in trouble if he didn’t.

Big day, big day, she had to go. Had to go now. It hadn't been hard for Billie to get away. She'd just project herself. But her concentration wasn't the best, so she had ended up on the street, and then walking the rest of the way there. "Places to be, have to go. Going...going." she had muttered to herself.

When she had landed at the sight, she'd made her way in with the others. Whatever it was they were chanting, she just seemed to know what she had to say, or do. She had regarded the key with interest. It was so shiny, sparkly. Pretty. Billie wanted one of her own.

It wasn't until the first sign of trouble arrived that she did anything besides chant, and stand in her spot. The ritual had to go on, but it didn't need them to do anything. The witch had turned on her spot, and looked blankly at the people coming.

Coming for the key. They couldn't have it. No, no, no, wasn't there's, mustn't steal. There were lots of them. Weapons, powers, plans. Their plans, they all had plans of their own, but it wasn't the right plan.

A blank gaze on her face, eyes dull, Billie lifted her hand, and flicked her power at the first person she could see to send them back. She knew she had to protect the key from them, and she'd do it with her life, because nothing else really crossed her mind.

Great. A witch. And he couldn't kill her. Jacen thought this was the sister of the abrasive fire witch. And he didn't want to wind up burned. Then the comparisons with Anakin Skywalker would just get out of control. And no one wanted that. He instead simply focused on the face off he found himself in, pushing back against her power more to keep himself steady and in place than to push her back. He could try to sleep her, or cloud her mind or...

Ugh, Fine, he'd go for the classic. It was likely the most appropriate action all things considered. Defensive, and not making her do anything that would get her in trouble or hurt.

"You don't want to fight me" he said softly, he didn't need to wave his hand like a Padawan. He was Darth Caedus. "You want to sit quietly out of the way."

Taking the peaceful option. See, he was capable of it, he told the niggling voice at the back of his mind that managed to sound like his Uncle Luke somehow. There was always the possibility that instead of making her easier to control it made it harder. He wasn't sure. Either way it was worth a try. He kept his gaze on her, lightsaber still fixed on his belt. There was no way in which that was a defensive tactic. Not ever.

Needy didn't mind being on demon duty. After all, she was fully aware that, while she was seriously powerful, especially in fights against humans and whatnot, and damn hard to kill, she wasn't nearly as strong as some of the others around. People like Clark and Kara, and hell, and even Jacen.

Needy couldn't help chuckling a bit when she saw, and heard, his way of fighting the humans. "Do me a favor," she called over to him before quickly ducking under a minion's swinging arm, then spinning to kick his... her... it's lets out from under it. "Please don't ever do the mind tricks on me." So what if she almost sounded like she was enjoying the fight? That was because she was. Blame it on the fact that she was infected by a demon. This was the girl that used to be sweet and innocent, not to mention a downright pushover. Now? She was teetering on the edge of insane half the time, plus she had a slight case of bloodlust.

Which showed once that demon was down and she began to wale on it until it was dead.

Pike had been quoting Speedy Gonzales the entire trip. He'd also been running. These two things weren't related. In fact, the running was because that damn kid had showed up again. But Pike knew, just knew, that everything would be fine once he got to the site.

Sure enough, he was right. The kid disappeared as he neared, and Pike fell in with the others, chanting in unison with them. It was all vaguely reminiscent of that scene from The Mummy. From there, he just chanted, seeming consumed with the task. He only occasionally darted glances at the key. It was too shiny. Kind of like looking at an eclipse.

He turned when things started happening, the chanting slowly dying off as he watched. They thought they could take the key? That wasn't going to happen. That couldn't happen. It would ruin the big day! If only he had his weapons... His Big Damn Gun would've come in handy right now. Oh well, he still had his fists. He stormed forward towards the nearest of the interlopers and threw a good, solid right hook.

Her attention shifted to Jacen, face still blank. Billie just gazed at him for a moment, there was no change in her eyes, no change in expression. She didn't want to fight him. Okay, she was about to turn to someone else, when he continued.

She wanted to go sit quietly out of the way.

The little spot against the wall in a section where no one was fighting looked good. Billie turned, and walked steadily toward the wall. As she did, one of the demon minions stepped in her way, "What are you doing, get back in-" Billie's hand flicked casually to the side, sending the demon flying away from her. "I want to sit quietly." she informed him, although he was already gone.

Once she was at the wall, she turned, leaned against it, and then sat down, staring blankly at the fight before her.

After giving Glory just a little sample of what Andrea had truly wanted to do to her, she had focused all of her energy on the demons. Enjoying the feel of beating them down. The sensation of bones crushing and the satisfaction of a job well done. However, she wouldn't have been lying about being distracted. She kept shooting glances at Pike and Lois; as they arrived and joined the other ... affected people. She paused, which was likely stupid of her, to momentarily scowl at Jacen. An expression that quickly eased when she caught some of what he said. Later she would go on and be impressed by what he did ... or didn't do. Now her attention was going back to the fight.

She glanced one last time towards Lois, when a fist came out of nowhere and caught her in the jaw. She scowled again, which instantly wavered when she saw it was Pike. Her fingers balled into fists. No way was she ever laying a harmful hand on Pike. Well, at least not when her friend couldn't defend himself. "Hey. I thought it I was the one who owed you the punch." She said, ignoring the slight bleeding of her lip. For a regular human, who was currently insane, he sure hit hard. Her tone was gentle and her focus was mostly on him. Mostly. She wasn't going to make the same mistake of letting her worry and concern distract her again. Especially not around the demons.

He could not ignore the call when it came. It was time. Time to go, time to do as she wished. Nothing could stand between him and fulfilling his duty. So he had left the apartment and walked towards the site, following others, expressionless. "Time," he murmured quietly. "Have to go. Time."

Adam took his place with the others, echoing a chant he'd never heard before but not missing a beat. This was a big night and things had to be perfect. Nothing must go wrong. Not even when they showed up, people wanting to take the bright, shiny key. He couldn't let that happen.

Turning towards the unwelcomed ones, he swung at the closest person.

After the nerves of the older/young cousin were settled, and she was sure Clark was at a safe distance from Glory, who's attention was now on Buffy, Kara looked down to the fight against the minions and demons. Glorys pawns were getting their asses kicked. She doubted they needed a version of Supergirl, but hey, why not?

The kryptonian powerhouse flew down the ground, landing with her feet firmly planted not that far from Jacen, since apparently he was one of the people leading this fight. Her attention turned to one of the demons who was now coming toward her.

Fire flared up behind her eyes, and two streams of heat flew toward the demon, nailing it square in the head, causing it to fall over in death. Kara wasn't one for killing. But this wasn't human, not even close. It was from hell, it was different. She could destroy it and not feel bad.

When one demon jumped on her back and attempted to stab her in the spine, she heard the knife shatter into pieces and fall to the ground. Reaching behind her, Kara grabbed the demon by the neck, and pulled it forward, holding it out infront of her. "You're lucky that didn't cut my jacket." she informed the demon, now looking more than a little terrified. And with that, she flicked her wrist and sent the demon flying into a brick wall, where it crumpled to the ground.

When she felt a fist collide with her face, Kara turned her head again, looking toward the man who had just hit her. One of the victims, he couldn't hurt him. "Sorry about this." she told him, before reaching out to grab his shirt. When she had a grip on him, she sped off toward the side of the house in a blur. There was a drainage pipe on the side of it. Pulling part of it away from the wall, she shoved Adam (gently) against the wall, and then wrapped the pipe around him, from shoulder to foot, locking it in place. "Just sit tightly, okay?"

Had he been in his right mind, Adam would have been horrified to realize that he'd just decked Supergirl. He couldn't hurt her but it was the principal of the thing. But that thought had gone missing with the rest of his sanity and instead his mission was to make sure the intruders didn't get the key.

He didn't understand why she was saying sorry, only that it was followed by movement that made his head spin. Then he couldn't move. No no no. This wasn't right. He had to be there, not here. They couldn't get the key. she would take the key and then bad things would happen.

Adam started to struggle but the pipe was around him too tight. Still, he wasn't going to give up. "Protect the key. Fight."

Had to get there. Had to get there soon and fast. There was an urgency to get to the location that refused to ease up until he had reached his destination. Dean knew that he was being followed, even in his current state, he was aware of that. However, since she wasn't standing in his way or doing anything to hinder him, Dean chose not to lash out. Yet. It was only if she started getting in his way. But she wasn't ... Maybe she understood? No. It was jumbled in his head but Dean knew that Ruby didn't understand anything. Maybe. She was just following him because of ... Because of Sam. Dean never forgot about Sam. No matter what happened to him and he wasn't forgetting about Sam now. This would be good. It was time to go home.

Time to protect the Key. Ruby following him and even Sam drifted from his mind, his focus latching onto that one thing. That and stopping the ones who wanted to intervene. It wasn't very long with all that was happening around him, before Dean spotted someone moving and swung out and decked them.

John Jones was more than ready to fight at the moment. Glory had to be taken down. He hoped that the super-powered ones made a hard impact with their hits. He suspected that they would, there wasn't anyone he knew from his world that was more powerful than them. He had taken off in a red streak through the sky, joining the fight below in several seconds. His eyes had glowed red for a moment as he readied himself to fight the demons. He would also take care not to injure the humans. The humans could be restrained as one currently was.. but the demons would not have mercy. When one of the fiends demon rushed at him, he stepped aside and grabbed it by the arm, quickly soaring upward. He then took one hand and placed it on the minion's chest.

It cried out in pain. The evil thing felt a strong burning sensation, and after several minutes, it writhed as a charred palm print was on his chest. Then, John threw him aside, watching as it fell to the ground about twenty feet from the scene. It was definitely dead. Then he swiftly descended back down to see if anyone needed assistance or if there were other demons to fight alone. He knew there were more. And he would continue to fight until everyone had eliminated every threat.

(ooc I hope I don't cause a confusion...needed to edit a slight gaff. Should still work this way.)

Giles was not going to miss this battle, no matter what. He was frustrated as it was, due to the constant issues with Drusilla and the inability to put a stop to her. He was glad to finally have a challenge that could actually be attacked and worked on.

He had ended up borrowing weapons from Buffy, as he still didn't have a means of getting his own, but it really wasn't any different from the way things usually were in Sunnydale. Only, he was usually the one handing out supplies back there. He carried a sword this time, and had a couple of smaller blades tucked in his belt in case he should be disarmed.

As the minions' chanting died down, he found himself thrust into the battle with the others. He fought well for a man his age, his energy surging as the line between kind, mild-mannered watcher and the darkness that was "Ripper" blurred. He took as much care as possible not to harm Glory's victims, but showed the demons no mercy. He might not be a part of the squad guarding Dawn, but he'd still fight to the death to help win this battl

Rescue vs. Minions/Victims -- Spell
[info]complete_dork

It had taken some doing but she had managed to rework the spell that Willow had told her about. She didn't have the books and it had been sometime since they'd actually spoken about what had gone into it. Not to mention, that Tara didn't believe that she had the raw power Willow had to make it affective. In fact she didn't, period. Especially not in another world where the rules were different. Nevertheless, she had to do this. Not only to give Buffy more of an edge with Glory but to set everyone right. She remembered all to well how it had felt to be lost in that darkness, and no one else was going to have to go through it any longer if she could help it. Tara would be lying, and delusional, if she had said that she wasn't scared. She was terrified. It was people's minds that she was risking taking this chance, and ... she didn't know if she could do it.

She had worked the spell and altered it, rearranging and fixing what worked with what would be safest, as best as she could. Yet even as she arrived at the sight of the battle and the ritual. Tara still hadn't been certain that she would do it. It was only when she looked at those blank faces, and seeing people striking their friends and those who wanted to help them that she knew that she had to do so. Reservation aside.

Goddess, help her. Goddess help them all that this would work and work beneficially.

She had given the spell to the other witches, to Christy and to Paige to give to whoever else wanted to help. Having it effect each person one by one would take too long but she didn't have the exact power to have it alter everyone all at once back to their immediate state. It would work in a wave effect. If it worked at all.

As soon as she got close enough, Tara began saying the spell.

Sam followed Dean carefully. He was determined to make sure that his older brother didn't stray from his sight; one wrong move, one unexpected motive, and something easily could have happened to him. Not to mention that Dean himself wasn't capable of keeping himself from harm. He could either end up hurting himself accidentally or letting something else do so first. Either way, Sam wasn't going to let it happen. It was why when the first few groups started fighting, Sam steered off to the side and focused on Dean. He had a shotgun in his hands and a spare gun at his side if he needed it and, from the looks of things, he was glad he'd thought to bring both weapons along. These ugly monsters - demons, he was sure someone had called them (which was kind of laughable, considering) - didn't look like they would go down easily. So when one strayed too close, Sam raised his gun and fired off a shot. He hit one of the things in the chest, then turned to fire off another round at the next incoming monster. Sam wasn't stupid enough to believe that the bullets would kill the 'demons', but he knew that they'd at least slow them down. That was good enough for him for the time being.

Looking up, Sam spotted Dean sauntering off in the opposite direction. Sam followed suit, halting slightly in his tracks when he caught Dean taking a swing at someone. Unfortunately, that someone wasn't one of their enemies. And that? It wasn't good. Swearing, Sam broke out into a run and moved forward to keep Dean from doing anything worse. He didn't trust everyone that had stepped into the battle enough to believe that they wouldn't harm his brother in retaliation - intentional or not.

"Dean! Hey!"

Dean had managed to punch her, distracted as she was by the others fighting. The one with blades and the one...was he fighting, burning them with his very hands. Interesting. She hadn't noticed the blow coming in from Dean and staggered back just a little. Cursing under her breath.

"...Come on...Dean you're too close. Sam, you gotta get back to Sam don't you. He's not here, you know he's more important than any stupid key so...don't make me drag you Shortbus"

Ruby was so not in the mood to be babysitting a man she hated. But she'd sworn to Sam that she'd protect Dean, and she'd only let him get this far cause crazy or not he still knew a word that made her pause, and hurt and made her eyes blacken. And she'd decided Sam would be adverse to her hexing or stabbing his brother to slow him down. Probably even punching, even if he could punch her. An act she felt was more Dean than crazy.

He'd be so damn smug.

"Don't make me make you. No one wants that"

As she spoke she heard Sam from the side of her and stepped into view from behind the other fighters.

"Can I hit him? Just once. He'd stop fighting?"

Faith was pretty pissed that Doyle had listened to B and let Pike go. That guaranteed that she was going to be heading after Glory. Not that she wasn't willing to be in on the fight, of course. She just wished that Pike had stayed back at the motel. She had once again gathered her knives and Pike's gun and headed to where the big scene was going down at.

Once there, Faith spent no time at all jumping into the fight. She killed demons left and right, and whenever she came up against a crazy person, she checked her punches so she didn't actually kill anyone, just knocked them out. When she noticed that there was a witchy-kinda-crazy among them, she just avoided her. Faith wasn't a fan of magic and had no problem staying away from that.

Her eyes flickered over to where B was fighting Glory from time to time-to make sure the hellgod didn't kill her, of course. She didn't want anyone else having that pleasure 'cept her. That was the only reason. Well, that and she'd probably have to jump over and fight Glory herself if B died. So it was a good idea to keep tabs on what was happening. She was also distracted as she waded through the ranks of the insane people, hoping to spot Pike somewhere before he got himself hurt or killed.

Giles' gaze also kept flicking to Buffy, concerned for both her and Dawn. He was hoping against hope that everyone would come through the battle alive and hopefully intact. He tried to catch Faith's eye as well for a moment.

Tara was beginning her spell now, and he prayed that it worked. He had wanted to say the spell with the others, but he'd reasoned that he would be most useful doing what he was right now.

A demon smacked him in the head from behind, and he turned, dazed, fighting to shake the cobwebs out as he plunged with the sword. He only wished that he wasn't just a mortal human, that he had something more to call on. He felt the beginnings of the fatigue, and he knew he'd use his reserves up faster than the younger people here. He just hoped Tara's spell bought all of them what they needed to succeed.

Pike had been about to continue his assault on Andrea. He hadn't attended the quipping school of combat. Quipping while fighting, in Pike's experience, wasted time that could be used dodging or attacking. Sure, he could joke around before and after, and if he had some help he could make toss an occasional joke during a fight, but usually he was all business. So instead of responding to her, he just advanced, prepared to continue the fight for as long as he needed to.

And then something hit him, and the spilled jigsaw puzzle of his mind snapped back into sharp relief.

His eyes widened as the dark lifted and the crawling went away. Suddenly he could form coherent thoughts again. The dark fog that had settled over his mind from the minute that hellbitch reached into his mind was gone. With sudden clarity, he knew what was happening.

He'd just struck a friend.
Dawn was going to be bled dry.
He'd been forced to relive all the feelings from Detroit.
He'd dropped the l-word with Faith while crazy, which might color any future attempts to make her believe it was true. Maybe even ruin things.

Most of the people here would probably have mistaken Pike for a mostly harmless hanger-on, great for moral support but probably not as good of a hunter as he thought he was. Pike certainly had never come across as dangerous to anyone here. The one fight he'd been involved in, he'd gotten stabbed. It didn't give the impression of someone that could actually be dangerous.

That was a misconception that anyone who saw him during this fight would probably not believe again.

He was still standing in full view of Andrea, but he wasn't seeing her. His eyes narrowed, his heart sped up and thudded in his ears like a heavy metal war drum, and something dark, cold, and flinty replaced the usual open, laid back look in his eyes. His face reddened, his fists clenched, and he literally shook with fury.

He was going to kill as many of these scabby little bastards as he could. And he was going to enjoy it.

He spun on his heel, away from Andrea. He needed a weapon, and that scabby little bastard with a short sword about ten feet to the left was a great source. Without so much as a second thought, he charged it. The sword swung, but Pike ducked under it, stuck out his arm, and slammed the demon into the ground with enough force that the impact could probably be heard over the din of the fight. Without missing a beat, he lifted one booted foot and brought it down in a vicious stomp directly at the center of the demon's throat.

There was a sickening cracking sound and the demon began gasping for air. Pike just leaned down, plucked the sword from the demon's suddenly frantic hands, and stepped over its body. The fact that it would die a slow death of suffocation pleased him more than it should have, but right now, all Pike could feel was white hot fury. There was no room for guilt.

A demon came at him from the right with a piece of road clutched in both hands. Pike batted the clumsy attack aside with the flat of his new sword, lashed his hand out, and buried his thumb in one of the disgusting little thing's eyes. It screeched and stumbled back, and Pike thrust his sword into it's throat and tore it out the right side, sending demon blood and gore out onto the street. A third demon stared at him and Pike just walked up and cleanly decapitated it.

Then he turned and proceeded further into the crowd of demons, looking for more to kill.

Oh. Good. It was just Ruby. That was okay, Dean could hit Ruby. Mostly because Sam knew that Ruby wouldn't harm him in return...at least not much. He wouldn't put it past the demon to at least take a swing at his brother to get him to calm down. Of course, as soon as Sam had that thought, Ruby turned to him and asked if she could give him a hit. Sam rolled his eyes and brushed past her, as if that single look alone happened to be enough of an answer. No way. Grabbing Dean by the shoulder, Sam attempted to pull him back so that he could calm him down and, hopefully, talk some sense into him. Talk sense into a crazy man? He'd have better luck at convincing Santa Claus to set a Christmas tree on fire.

Sam tried to suppress a cringe at the Christmas reference, tugging on his brother as he did so. "C'mon, Dean..." He didn't like this. It was bad before, but now his brother was attacking Ruby?

...actually, that was probably the sanest thing that Dean had done all night.

"Ruby's on our side. You know that." Sam tugged at his brother's shoulder again, leaning down a little in hopes of meeting his brothers eyes. He wouldn't attack him, would he? Was he really that far gone? "Dean, we can do whatever you want. Just keep your hands to yourself. We'll help you, okay? You know I'll help you." He was lying. But if this was what he needed to do in order to keep Dean from going all nutso on everyone, then so be it. It wasn't like Dean was gonna hold a grudge later on for it. That was, if he remembered anything. Or if Tara's spell actually worked. God, he hoped that it worked.

[ooc: And I'm splitting this! Because keeping it in one thread is confusing.]

Dean struggled against Sam. Pulling himself from his brother's grip. One priority taking over the other; the need to protect the key over not ever hurting Sam. His hand balled into another fist but before he could raise it, to clock his own brother, something happened.

He blinked and shook his head as the spell took affect. It was as if the jumbled, shifting, buzzing had just stopped. Things were rearranged and slow and carefully put together, and with a click all was right again. Mostly. "I hope to God, you were just making the crazy person feel better, Sam, or I might reconsider punching you." The words were lame even to his own ears, as he tried hard to infuse some humor in them.

Rubbing his hand over his face, Dean's eyes took in his brother, and answered before Sam could even ask. "Yeah. I'm sane again. Or as sane as I ever been." His eyes cut to Ruby, involuntarily, and it was a visual struggle for a moment. However, at that instant he was too tired to care. All of barriers weren't back up and he was just raw. Which was why it was eaiser now than it ever would have been for him to say, "Sorry."

An apology that would likely never happen again. He didn't give any thanks because that was pushing it. And he hadn't asked her to stand his way. He was damn sure that had been Sam. However, she'd done it. He didn't delude himself into thinking that she'd done it for him; not even in his previous state would he have been able to consider that. Still. She'd watched out for him and he'd ... hit her. It was good. He wasn't going to lie about that and if he could get away with it again, he'd do it. His apology was more for harming her when she'd been trying to help, than the actual act of hitting her. Five letters more complicated than they should have been, but he had the feeling she'd understand.

Sam wasn't going to get hit, she wasn't gonna let it happen even if it meant she had to take another punch. She was about to pull Dean's arm back behind his back when he paused, his hand not even raised yet, something was happening. And Ruby had an idea what that something might be. Dean was back to himself, confirming this as he spoke. Sane as he'd ever been, well she wouldn't deny that. But she was happy Sam had his brother back, she didn't like seeing him hurting and without his brother. He should be.

Ruby couldn't deny her eyes had widened when he actually said it, said sorry. She wasn't going to push it, or do anything to take away from it. She mearly nodded and moved back a little to stand beside Sam but not to interfere if they wanted one of the brotherly moments they had now and again. Just like before back when Dean didn't who who the brunette called Krissy was when he'd returned she felt awkward at times like this.

"Don't worry about it" she managed to say and busied herself looking around to see if there were any more of the ugly creatures claiming to be demons around. They offended her just by existing in her world and she was happy to ensure they didn't anymore.

Kara, Andrea Clark, then Buffy vs. Glory

What Buffy had meant by they were down a wrecking ball, she didn't know. Kara, as far as she was concerned, was a whole lot more powerful than any wrecking ball. The God didn't know what was coming. She'd gone up, right into the sky to look down. As soon as the fight had started, she dove down, having already easily spotted Glory.

She'd been told to only hit her once, but oh well. She was blur or blue and red, almost invisible as she came speeding toward Earth. She put all of her strength into the next two movements. Kara had already calculated where Andrea was. She came up to Glory from behind. Her leg collided with the back of Glory's spine, but before she could go flying into anything, she raced infront of her. Karas fist collided with Glory's face, and sent her flying straight into the direction of Andrea. "Catch!" she called to the other female powerhouse, and then she was airborn again, moving up and away from Glory so she couldn't get her hands on her.

Blows from three of the most strongest people on the planet aside, the Hell God didn't know what she had coming at her. From above, Kara watched carefully, eyes keeping an eye on Clark. She saw Buffy, waiting, and watching, sword in hand. Saw how her eyes kept darting from Dawn to Glory. Saw how she couldn't quite keep up with their movement, but she was tense, and ready to spring when it was time.

Andrea looked up when Kara told her to catch. A wide grin coming over her features. She caught Glory by the hair and spun the Hellbitch around, landing a solid punch face, just once, before letting her go and sending sent side-kick straight to Glory's stomach with all of her strength, sending her to Clark's direction. "Hey, Kent. Play time!" Her grin widened, she paused only so long to make sure that Clark caught Glory.

When she saw that he had, she turned her attention to the situation, looking to see what she could do. Minions. How, she enjoyed kicking the butts of minions. It was so damn theraputic.

Clark didn't know if he was supposed to be mortified or amused by the cheerful demeanor Andrea took on as she attacked Glory. He found the situation far from funny, personally, and could do nothing but frown at everything that was going on around them. That wasn't to say that Clark wasn't going to take some form of pleasure out of getting a piece of Glory for himself - she had attacked and wiped Lois of her mind - but Clark wasn't typically the kind of person to get all pleased about something like a fight. The only thing that he was looking forward to was seeing this all over with. Even if that meant that they had to play a round of Glory-shaped volleyball to see it through.

When Glory came hurling in his direction, Clark squared his shoulders and stood his ground. Then, when Glory was close enough, Clark used his speed to his advantage; moving in the literal definition of a blur, he stepped to the right, grabbed Glory by the waist, and spun her around. "This is for Tim," he said, balling up a fist and sending a blow square to her jaw. Clark didn't let her go there though. He held onto her with a strong hand, then pulled his arm back again, this time focusing more strength into his next swing. "And this is for Lois." Turning into another blur, Clark struck her hard and let go. He knew she'd go flying off into the wall behind her and Clark did nothing to stop her from doing so.

It would hurt. Hopefully, it'd be the kind of hurt that would stun her long enough for further action to be taken before she got a grip on herself.

She could barely stand after the first flurry, but she hadn't expected it, nor the two that followed, people with strength they shouldn't have. They weren't human, and that was CHEATING. More cheating than using Robot Buffy. Oh she was gonna bleed the bitches sister and then, then Buffy was dead. There were no two ways about it. Using freakin superheroes. Who DID that?. At least she wasn't wearing one of her dresses, that would have hurt more being flung against the wall. She didn't like this at all and tried to stand and show them just why pissing off a God was bad news. But...standing hurt.

"Oh come ON" she said as the punches for Tim and Lois whoever they...Oh OH Lois was one of the ones she'd grabbed. Even so, she'd needed them. It was how it had to be, and superpunching was entirely uncalled for. And tacky. They were... "You're...TACKY, I'm not a football...and...Ow..." she managed, still doubled over against the wall

She would have rathered the wrecking ball.

Whatever happened with Glory, she hadn't been able to follow it. She knew when the God had been hit, because the sound it made was hard to miss. When Glory ended up in the wall, Buffy couldn't help but snort back a laugh. It wasn't funny, no, but leave it to the hell god to bitch about cheating. Sword ready, Buffy jumped down from where she had been watching, landing gracefully on her feet. "That was so much better than a wrecking ball. Maybe they should go another round?" she asked, tilting her head as she gazed in Glory's direction.

"Guess some people are just stronger than you." and they were, she knew that at least Clark and Kara were. But they could die, where as Glory, in this form, couldn't. And they could have their minds taken. Which was why they had to get out. As powerful as they were, it would have only taken one mistake.

Her hands were behind her back, the sword traveling up the length of her spine, and currently hidden behind her. "I think we both remember how this goes. Last chance to give up?" she didn't wait for a respond as she took one step toward the god. Even if she was hurting, Buffy knew the god would push it aside to deal with her. Buffy had just pissed her off too many times.

"Blah Blah Buffy. They might be freaks of nature or whatever but look. Still here". HURTING like nothing else. But here. Ready to take on the bitchy little blonde Slayer that had ruined her plans once already. She didn't get to do it twice. Glory would bleed Dawn, she would go home and everything here could burn to dust for all she cared. But the Slayer wouldn't live to see it, she thought hapilly, as she drew her sword. They'd fight and Buffy would die cause thats how things happened, Cause she was Glory. She was to be worshipped, and thats how things would go when the dimentional walls fell apart cause of fake-girl. And Buffy was actually giving her a chance to give up? How lame. How utterly lame.

"I don't give in to mortal girls. I don't surrender when I'm so very very close to getting everything I always wanted. Look at them, all of them. Fighting for me. For ME Buffy. Don't you get it yet, and all your little tricks, your cheating, your robot momma's with guns. Not even a Hammer. Sucks to be you. Whatever you do? Its not gonna stop me. Dawnie's gonna die, but its okay, you're gonna die first so I wouldn't feel to bad."

She got ready to fight, swords, fists, hair pulling. Whatever. Glory was ready for anything. She'd heal from the hurt soon enough. But Buffy had nothing left to throw at her. All this was, all this would ever be. Was timewasting.

Face growing hard, a tiny smirk came over her face. "Well, I gave you the chance." the really sad part? Glory ranted and was more speachy than she was most of the time. She'd point out that she had Jacen Solo and Superman on her side, but Buffy was fairly sure the reference would be lost on Glory.

When she lunged, Lucifer's sword came out from behind her back. Buffy could swear it was almost glowing with power. But that was probably all just in her head. Humming with power, yes, sending the vibrations down to her core. She'd win with this, Glory would go down. With Vi, Tim, and Dawn, not to mention the support team at their back. Things were different this time. Her demons really didn't stand a chance. The only real fight? Was between them, and Buffy already knew she could beat Glory with the right weapon, and that was all she needed to know. Because this was the right weapon.

Squaring off against Glory, Buffy cut the sword up toward the gods middle. Even if it didn't but her, she could still probably use it like an awkward bat and just beat the hell out of her.

Freaking seriously? SERIOUSLY.

Glory could have punched her, in fact, she would. She'd punch her. What were the chances, Cause Glory could feel the power in the blade. Native Power. Crappidy Crappidy crap. But she couldn't let the Slayer see she was worried. No, she parried the blow the Slayer had made and they traded for a while, back and forth until one slipped past, just at her shoulder, But it hurt and Glory staggered back a little. God Power. Divine.

Freaking Angelic.

"You don't understand...do you? Its not like I'm killing something real. Dawnie, she's a pretend little toy the monks gave you to mind. That's all you're protecting. How lame is that" she commented as she swung in for another blow at the Slayer. She had to get her angry, get her distracted. She had to go for the kill, and soon. More blows with that sword, coupled with the superheroes. She understood why this place was pulling people in for their war. There was more strength here than there ever had been in Sunnydale even without Glinda being around.

"What are you still fighting for Buffy. I'm already winning. My minions are slicing and dicing as we speak" Or they'd better be, if they knew what was good for them. She sure as hell wasn't turning around to check though

Buffy ignored her as she talked, she just focused on trading blows, blocking Glory's attacks, and aiming her own with the sword. Of course, she was a god, she was going to land hits. They hurt just as much as Buffy remembered, but she could take a few of them and still be on her feet. Why the god just didn't go right for the kill, she didn't know. But the fight continued, and despite some of the blows Glory got, Buffy was holding her own.

After the god had landed one well place backhand, and Buffy was picking herself up after shattering a window in the building because she had crashed into it, she finally responded.

"I wouldn't count on that." she said, bringing the sword up again, and lunging it to continue the fight. "See, this time? It's not just my friends. I've got Superman. Supergirl. Jacen freaking Solo, if you have any idea who that is." she said, her voice flat as she concentrated on the fight. "Your demons don't stand a chance. The only fight here? Is you, and me." okay, so she wasn't that positive that her team was kicking that much ass, but it was likely.

And the sword was working. She could see what it was doing to Glory, and it gave Buffy hope, which was exactly what she needed. So maybe the Angels were useful for something after all, even if it was only borrowing their weapons.

Glory knew the names, she had minions didn't she. She'd gotten the info and in hindsight she probably shouldn't have been distracted by particularly fragrant new bath salts. But she remembered the aliens with super strength that could fly, and she suspected she knew Solo.

"The ones that hit me, and the guy hurling lightning at my Jinxy?" she said sadly as her best minion got hurled into a wall. Lame. She'd liked him. She needed to keep Buffy talking, keep her talking long enough to...Dammit...another slash at her side, more power lost. That sword, it was weakening her...weakening her hard and then finally. It was a simple move, she'd turned to the side, just angled herself right and the blade cut into the Slayer's stomach. She'd done it. She'd finally done it. She was about to drive the sword in all the way to be sure and finish her off when she was frozen in place by something, something from across the battle. Her mind was shattering again.

"NO!!" she screamed wildly. "Crawling, crawling all in my head, never find the light, never see the...why won't you let me have my LIGHT, she's MINe. Mine like, shoes and clothes and cars and material trappings, trappings, cages and chains, old times...just like old..."

She had to heal, she had to. She had to let him try to get away. She had no choice left. But maybe Buffy would die before the choice became an issue.

She gave the body up to Ben and he looked up worriedly.

"You're hurt"

It was if time had froze when the blade bit into her stomach. She wasn't aware of it at first, until a familiar pain shot through her system. Just like when the ubervamp from the First's battle had stabbed her, it wasn't any less of a shock. Her face was a mirror of her emotions. Pain, fear, shock, confusion. She stumbled, and half expected Glory to just cut up from there, finishing her off. But it never came.

She was only mildy aware of what Glory was saying as she looked down at her stomach, a sword still sticking out of it. The God was screaming at something. Somewhere, something had happened, the Glory had gone batshit. Half aware of what she was doing, almost a robot movement, she reached for the sword sticking in her, and then pulled it out, a gasp of pain slipping past her lips.

Her balance wavered again, and as she dropped the sword, she looked up to Glory. Only it wasn't Glory. It was Ben.

You're hurt.

Ben. Ben who had worked his way into her trust the first time, only to betray her and hand over Dawn. Ben, who remembered it all and arrived in this city, only to do it again. Ben, who had fully intended on handing over Dawn, and letting her die, just so he wouldn't have to. More monster than human. Willing to become a monster to live.

Ben, who's played her like a food, twice. Pure rage filled Buffy's mind, her vision almost flared red. Pulse speeding up, Buffy could feel the pure hate she had for this...him.

She didn't respond. Glory had given over to Ben thinking that Buffy wouldn't kill him. The Slayer wasn't the same person from all those years ago. She'd learned from the First that sacrifices had to be made. It was war, people had to die. Ben was going to die, because if he didn't, the world would end. And she had to protect the world.

Not even giving him a moment to say anything else, Buffy lunged forward, eyes cold. Lucifer's sword flew up, and she brought it down over Ben, hitting the shoulder and sliding inward and down toward his middle.

When he was dead, she collapsed, falling backward onto the ground, dropping the sword. Her hand came to her stomach where she had been stabbed, and then came away with blood. So much blood. Her head fell back, eyes closing as she attempted to stead her breathing.

Faith happened to be glancing over when she saw Glory cut B with the sword. Anger stirred inside her. No way. No FUCKING way. Her eyes narrowed, and she began to fight her way over to reach B. She got there just in time to see her kill the guy, Ben, who apparently had been Glory-which still confused her just a bit. She was distracted for a moment, and didn't turn towards B until after she'd fallen to the ground.

For a few precious seconds, she stood there, between the guy B had just killed and B, who now had a wound so similar to the one she'd given Faith. She wanted to walk away. Really, she did. But she didn't. Instead, she pulled off her leather jacket and balled it up as she dropped to her knees next to the blond. She pressed the jacket tightly against B's stomach even as her dark eyes glanced around to see if anyone else had seen what had happened, and who could come help.

If B was lucky, it wouldn't be too deep and it might even begin to heal quickly so that she'd be able to be moved soon. She wasn't gonna let Buffy die, not now anyway.

She could hear the fight around her, somewhere she could hear Dawn screaming for her, which meant that she was still alive, but Xander and Vi hadn't found her yet. She really, really hoped that no one had cut her. No, they hadn't. There was no massive portal of destruction with dragons flying around. They were still winning, and with Glory gone, they could do this. Or she hoped the others could, because she was out.

When she felt someone putting pressure on her stomach, Buffy's eyes opened slightly, her head turning. It was the last person she had ever expected to help her. At least, from the time she was from.

She half looked at her stomach, though she couldn't really see it that well. It was some kind of fabric. Her jacket, probably. "Thought you wanted to kill me." she breathed out, though she wasn't be serious. For some reason, she didn't think Faith was going to kill her. Not now, or ever really. But really not now, because something told her Faith would want an actual fight, from start to finish, just to see who was better.

When she heard Buffy speak, she glanced back down at her, still using Slayer strength to hold the jacket in place. Pressure was the only thing that would help with a wound like this. She knew that one from experience.

Faith met the blond's eyes for a moment, then gave a shrug as she looked away again. "Still do." But there was no force behind the words. Sure, she still wanted Buffy to pay for what she'd done-she had, after all, taken 8 months of Faith's life-but not like this. 'Sides, she hadn't been the one to cause this pain, so she really didn't like it.

"Don't move for a minute. Stomach wounds are the worst." There was a faint bitterness in her tone. Her own scar was twinging slightly in remembrance-no surprise there, really. She could remember the pain quite clearly. "Long as you don't jump off a buildin', ya should be okay." After a moment, she met B's eyes again. She still didn't really like her, or trust her, but despite all that, there was a bond that they had as Slayers.

Even Faith couldn't deny that.

Her gazed staid on Faith, even when she looked away. So maybe Pike really was getting to her. Helping her. Maybe. Still, the fact that he use to innocently date buffy when she was a teenager was something Faith could never know. And she only hoped he didn't hurt her. And that she didn't hurt him.

"Yeah." she said, in an agreeing tone. Reaching down, she lifted up the bottom of her shirt on the otherside, revealing a scar that looked like it came from a sword. "Same damn thing happened when the First attacked a few years back." people needed to stop trying to kill her. It wasn't her fault they were stupid enough to keep trying to end the world.

Buffy met Faith's eyes, getting the message pretty clear. They'd probably never be friends. At least not like she'd considered Faith when they'd first met and Buffy had got over her jealousy. But they were both Slayers, and that meant something.

After a moment, she took a deep breath in. "I need to get to Dawn."

Her gaze flickered to the scar, then back up to Buffy. The First. That was the thing she'd been fighting when Red had done that spell. It still blew her mind a little. With that thought, she glanced over towards there the others seemed to be mostly taking care of the demons and crazies. For an instant, her eyes fell on the redheaded slayer, Vi, and the wicked awesome weapon she had. That must've been the scythe Buffy had mentioned.

When she met Buffy's gaze again, she gave a faint nod at the words. "You will." She waited until she seemed steady enough to sit up, then slid an arm under Buffy's shoulder and helped her up, her other hand still holding the jacket in place. She then started to stand slowly with her, making sure she didn't do something stupid, like faint or some crazy shit like that.

Once Buffy was on her feet, Faith gripped her arm tightly to keep her standing. "You good?"

Buffy sucked in a breath, biting back the pain the came on even worse from moving. As Faith helped her to her feet, she grabbed the handle of the sword. There was no way she was leaving Lucifer's sword unattended anywhere. Besides, she didn't want to have to deal with two pissed off teenage half angels. She put the sharp end of it to the ground, almost using it as a type of support.

"I think." she said with a slight nod, trying to steady herself. She glanced down at Faith's hands on her arm, and was reminded of the Faith that had fought with her in the hellmouth against the First. The Faith she could mostly get along with. "Thanks."

"Is it over?" she asked, looking around her, trying to see if there were many demons left. She could only assume the minds of everyone had been returned, and that was what had caused the freak out with Glory.

Faith eyed the sword for a moment, remembering what had been said about it. It was kinda wicked cool. But she didn't touch it, instead glancing away and watching as Buffy pulled herself together. Literally. When she saw B look down at her hands, she let go of her, but waited until Buffy put a hand over the jacket to hold it in place. At the moment, it was the only thing keeping her insides inside, from what Faith had seen.

When Buffy asked if it was over, she glanced around herself, and gave a shrug. "Looks like, mostly." She trailed off as she spotted Pike finishing off a couple of demons. She didn't know it, but a small smile slid onto her lips, and her gaze warmed as she watched him. She'd caught a glimpse of him after the witch's spell, and could tell that he was kinda losing it, but she'd been too busy to help him.

Now, though, he seemed almost himself again.

She blinked a little to look back at the blond. "Keep the jacket. Blood's hell to get out." She noticed Xander, Vi, and that kid heading in a particular direction, and nodded towards them. "I'm guessing the kid's over there." She was pretty anxious to get to Pike, figuring B could take care of herself now.

Dawn was straining against the chains, trying desperately to see what was happening. She was glad she was taller than most of Glory's minions this time, but thanks to some a bunch of trees, she really couldn't see what was going on. All she could go by was what she heard-and it sounded pretty scary. There was lots of weapons sounds and demon-death sounds, along with an occasional cry from the crazy people.

Which was better then their chantings.

The teen could also see glimpses of people through the trees, though all she saw was a head here and a face there. Nothing too clear. In the meantime, she was making the demons angry at her-not that they could do anything about it without Glory. She had, after all, spent the last month learning anything she could from anyone who would teach her.

She'd also learned a lot in the year-plus since she'd been in this position before.

Any time one of the demons came near her, it ended up with a boot in butt, or head, or anything else that came within range. She was more vicious in keeping them away from her than she'd ever been in fighting before.

No way was she going to let them bleed her, and cause Buffy to feel forced to sacrifice herself again to close the portal.

Speaking of, where was her sister? "Buffy!?" She cried out, trying to see if she could spot her through the trees.

Xander knew what he had to do. There was no way in hell he was going to try and stand up against Glory (which was a shame, because his previous experience with the wrecking ball of doom was pretty darn awesome), so Xander immediately agreed to track Dawn down and find her before it was too late. As terrified as he was for everyone involved with the fight, Xander knew that nothing here was more important than finding and getting Dawn out of harms way before Glory cut her open and opened up that portal of hers. So while the supers were off fighting Glory with Buffy, Xander was busy searching for Dawn with Vi and Tim. The search wasn't going to be an easy one though - not with those demons running around. It was why Xander had come to the fight fully equipped with his favorite (and only) crossbow. Knowing that the other two were watching his back, Xander began pushing forward and into the heat of the battle. Off to the side, he could spot Buffy and Glory, but he didn't (even though he would have preferred to) focus on what was going on with them. Xander instead moved ahead, firing off a bolt from his crossbow and into the chest of one of Glory's hideous minions.

"Keep moving, guys!" Xander shouted, advancing in the direction of the demon he'd shot down. They were going to have to clear themselves a path if they wanted to get to Dawn in time. No need to worry about fighting all the baddies. Just make a path and move. That was the plan. At least, it was Xander's plan.

When another demon lunged at him, Xander jumped back and barely missed the brunt end of what looked like would have been a painful blow. He kicked a leg out and sent the demon stumbling back, then effectively fired another bolt. This time, he hit the demon in the face and watched with satisfaction as it toppled to the ground, the end of the arrow sticking out of it's head.

Vi had heard about the first time Glory had come to Sunnydale. Heard in the way where it came from a source many times removed and details had been changed and forgotten so that the story itself didn't tell the truth and nothing but. But she had seen the trouble that Glory had caused here. The insane, the injured, and now, kidnapping Dawn. So when Buffy gave her the order to help Xander find Dawn, she had her mission and nothing but success was acceptable.

As they waded into battle, Vi kept looking. Buffy had Glory engaged, people were pushing back the minions and trying to keep the victims engaged and out of danger. For a hodge podge kind of team, they really made it work. She just prayed that everyone came out of it in one piece, sanity restored, and unbled.

"Right behind yo-!" Vi yelped in surprise as a hand grabbed a handful of red ponytail and yanked back. She caught a brief glimpse of minion, the killable ones, before she brought her weapon up and around. The head rolled off the shoulders, fingers loosening in her hair as she shoved the body away. Lowering her shoulder, she shoved someone else aside as she rushed to catch up with Xander.

This was one of those times when hack and slash was acceptable. Vi swung again, earning a pained yelp from another demon. "Get lost!" she snapped, glancing around to make sure Xander and Tim were still in sight. Now they just had to locate Dawn. Given a moment to adjust, Vi stood up on the tips of her toes, trying to see out over the battle.

In the office Tim had gone for the incognito look, but now? There was no reason. He needed every weapon in his arsenal and his suit was more practical then trying to conceal weapons under his clothes. He ditched his civis and covered Vi and Xander. Both of them had more demon experience then him so he took their cues and whatever orders came with them without argument. He was perfectly capable of following orders, it was just a role reversal for him that they didn't come from Batman or other costumed type. But none of that mattered, he was just worried about Dawn. Tim's arsenal was a bit different than theirs. In a black gloved hand he gripped a deadly sharp batterang and had several emergency R's that were just as lethal if he needed backups.

"10-4." Police talk to Xander's order, a nasty habit he picked up from Dick when on the field that he'd have to remember to break later. He couldn't think of anything snarky, he was focused on Dawn and staying alive. No super powers and no demon advantage meant he had to be alert and aware to everything that surrounded them, and he was. Piercing ice blue eyes behind his domino mask searched through the sea of demons and things with teeth and claws in attempt to find a hint of Dawn. So far nothing. Just alot of ugly evil minions getting in there way. The killable ones were ahead. Robin had their backs.

"I thought I heard someth-woah!" He'd heard a voice, but it was hard to pick out with all the others around them and all the demons wanting them dead. He was interrupted by a demon that tried to plow into him like the juggernaut flattened walls, and he jumped up on it's shoulder, kicking it to the ground and landing behind it. The demon stumbled and landed to the ground on it's chest, Tim threw a battering with a deadly and sickening accurate force into it's spine as he got his footing. The weapon stuck there and Tim straightened up. "I thought I heard something over there." He pointed in the distance infront of them the direction he thought he heard it. Then out of the corner of his right eye he saw movement. "Xander, duck!" There was a demon coming at him from the angle Tim was facing. Making sure he was down he leaned and launched another sharpened batterang at that ones throat before it could get within a foot of the scooby. He was getting faster as the adrenaline kicked in.

It was a good thing that Xander had been looking back to listen to Tim at the time. When he suddenly shouted for him to duck, Xander had been listening enough to react instantly. Dropping down and moving to the right, Xander narrowly avoided being pummelled with one of the infamous batarangs. Damn, he really wanted to mess around with those. Oracle was teaching him though, so maybe next time...no, no. Focus, Harris. He had to keep his geekish fanboy habits to a negative capacity right now. They needed to focus on Dawn. Because if Glory got to her before they did? That was it. Game over. Not to mention, the possibility of Buffy dying again. Xander did not want for Buffy to die again. He just wouldn't have it. So, setting his jaw, Xander straightened up, shot Robin an appreciative look, and turned back to the fight. Re-loading his crossbow, Xander fired off a few more shots at incoming targets and began to lead the way deeper into the fray.

It was right when he was looking to take down another demon when he heard it. Distant, but definitely recognizable. Dawn was crying out Buffy's name. Somewhere...somewhere - but where? A fist jumped out from the mass of bodies, striking Xander across the side of his face. Stumbling back, Xander winced. Unlike some of the others in the fight, he bruised a bit more easily. Human and non-superpowered and all. But that didn't slow him down, oh no. Xander was used to the ouch part of fights like these. That's what happened when you hung out with one Buffy Summers for as long as he had. Swinging a fist out, Xander hit the demon in the face, then used the end of his crossbow to strike the demon again. A foot lifted up high enough for Xander to kick him in the gut, in which he used the advantage of the doubled over demon to land in another arrow.

Dawn was weakening. She knew it. It'd been a long night, and she was so worn out from fighting, trying to keep the demons away from her. They were actually starting to get a little closer to her with the knives, and she began kicking towards their hands, trying to knock them away.

If they managed to get her to start bleeding, either she would die, or Buffy would.

Dawn also continued to peer through the trees. She thought she could hear voices she recognized, but her sister still had not appeared. Her terror began to rise. Was Buffy already dead? Would Glory be the next face she saw, coming through the trees? Or would it be Ben, which would be even worse, because he had chosen to do this to her?

"BUFFY! Someone, help!?" She cried out again, the words cutting off in a slight sob as she kicked out at another demon who came too close. "Get AWAY!"

Vi glanced over to catch one of the batarangs go flying over Xander's head and take down one more of the army rushing them. Yeah, they had Robin as backup. That was going to be bragging rights when she got back to her squad in New York. Not that they'd ever believe her but still, it was that cool.

She swung her weapon slow, taking down a demon at the knees and helping him along with a push. "Heard what?" she called back, but it turned out to be unneccessary. There was a familiar voice coming from nearby. They'd found Dawn. Now they just needed to get to her. She waited for her to call out again, to get a better idea of what direction to head in. When she heard her call out for her sister, she started running, barely taking time to cut down anyone who got in her path.

"This way!"
