In the early 1980s a secret worldwide organization know as the Gardiner initiative began to work on a chemical compound to alter human genetics. Their goal? To allow humans to develop superpower abilities. In 2008, they discovered a formula that would affect certain humans depending on their genetic structure. Once the Gardiner Initiative cut through the red tape of governments around the world they put this chemical compound into world water supplies. As only few humans would be affected by the compound, it was the Gardiner Initiative’s intention to spread the compound as far as possible in order to generate as many meta-humans. In January 2010 stories began to surface around the world of people who could perform amazing feats such as fly, turn invisible, even read minds. The Initiative began to round up these people. Some they deceived by offering to help them with their new found powers while others were abducted outright when they resisted. Those that have been captured so far have been brought to a prison-like building in a hidden location and put into the Gene Unit. Here they will live and receive training to develop and learn control over their powers until the Initiative decides it time to start phase two of their training which will induct them into the world of espionage, black ops and assassination. |

Musings has always existed, a world alongside our world. In Musings, people live the way we do, eat the same food we do, love the same way we do, and work the same minimum wage jobs we do. The differences? They all have their roots in fictional characters, and they are immortal. Though they are not the characters themselves, they carry in them the essences of characters from fiction. The sources that they spring from do not exist for them, but they are based on fiction we are familiar with all the same - though no one has ever read a Batman comic, there is a rich young man who uses his money to fight the forces of evil that destroyed his life. Though Moby Dick was never written, a sailor still stalks the bars of a town on the sea, watching, waiting. Now, a portal has opened between the world of Musings and the mortal world, and the Creations (as they call themselves) have begun crossing over in droves. Now, they have abilities that they did not have in their own world, abilities that they can choose to do with what they will. There is no great prescribed fate for these echoes of fiction, only the destinies they choose to weave for themselves - living and losing on the shores of a new world. Most Wanted: Cobb and Ariadne from Inception, Night Owl II from Watchmen, Mal and Wash from Firefly, Harley Quinn from Batman, and George and Mitchell from Being Human. Also, more heroes, vigilantes and bad guys. |
