Welcome to the Network. Right now, you'll find yourself in a hospital room. Something seems to be missing, though. Maybe it's the lack of that distinctive hospital smell, or the fact that there's no beeping machines. In fact, other than a bed and the small table next to it, there's nothing in the room. Or maybe that's not it at all. Maybe it's that you don't have a chart at the end of your bed. Or that there doesn't seem to be any doctors and nurses walking around, and you're free to get up and roam as you please. You'll even see, once you leave your personal room, that you're not the only one. Some of the rooms you pass seem normal enough as you walk down the hall. More private rooms, some comfortable-looking waiting rooms. Even an abandoned nurses' station, and signs pointing to the cafeteria on the ground floor. Except -- wait, was that really a gym you just passed? A computer lab? A theater? Don't worry, you'll get used to it. You'll have to. The Network doesn't give you much of a choice. --------- * The Network is a NEW pan-fandom game. Original characters are accepted. Everyone is welcome! We just opened and are waiting for some new faces to start up! Game will begin soon! It has been fourteen years since the menacing influence of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named has been felt, but the memory will never truly fade. Harry Potter and his fellow classmates left Hogwarts victorious, but at a great cost did they do so. Large portions of Hogwarts lay crumbling around them. Friends and families mourned the premature passing of loved ones. The Wizarding world did not escape the clutches of Voldemort unscathed. Every child born during the postwar population boom knows the stories of the war. They know the trials faced by the heroic Order of the Phoenix and they're familiar with the brooding faces of the villains, but it isn't the parents who pass on this knowledge, for many of them are unwilling to relive the memories. A few brave souls have shared their own experiences and knowledge while the remainder of the survivors stubbornly cling to the hope that they will forget, no matter how tightly memory holds them. As September looms ever closer, a new year at Hogwarts lingers on the horizon, but this isn't just another year. With the final examinations in June, Hogwarts will be releasing it's first graduating class since it reopened in 2003. It is this class that has had the privilege of experiencing a new Hogwarts; one that no longer has a shadow forever hanging above it. This year celebrates seven complete years of laughter, knowledge, and, most importantly, hope. This sense of celebration and excitement hovers over the students as they ready for the school year, and it will surely be packed alongside the cauldrons and rolls of parchment to be brought back to Hogwarts. The question that seems to be drawing a lot of attention from the older generation is whether or not the good times really do last? Will the atmosphere at Hogwarts remain unchanged or will History repeat itself, as it so often does? |
"….Voldemort's powerful now. You don't know who his supporters are, you don't know who's working for him and who isn't; you know he can control people so that they do terrible things without being able stop themselves. You're scared for yourself, and your family, and your friends. Every week, news comes of more deaths, more disappearances, more torturing … The Ministry of Magic's in disarray, they don't know what to do, they're trying to keep everything hidden from the Muggles, but meanwhile, Muggles are dying too. Terror everywhere … panic … confusion …" Across Europe the Wizarding Community lies in fear. Voldemort and his followers are on the rise, leaving behind a reign of terror in their wake. As his numbers increase, Wizards begins to grow more uneasy, increasingly choosing to fall prey to his Empire, out of fear, unwilling to stand up and fight. In spite of the increasing danger, a small group of vigilante Wizards has begun to pull ranks, daring to do what the Ministry fears to do; fight. The Order of the Phoenix is slowly growing into a force to be reckoned with, threatening not only Voldemort, but the Ministry itself. Change is on the brink and the students of Hogwarts. No longer will they be safe behind the confines of the castle, unaware to the real dangers of the world. They will soon be forced to make their own loyalties known; a decision that will affect not only the rest of their lives, but the entire Wizarding World. Amongst the darkness, these students are potentially the light needed to give the Order the man power to take on Voldemort’s forces. As both sides fight to gain support, one question lies: which side do you choose? Game Opens February 1! |
In the not-too-distant future, superhumans have been accepted (for the most part) and integrated back into society. All thanks to the invention of an American, mass-produced neurological drug; which for the majority dumbs down mutations to nearly 10% of its capable capacity. Originally handed out for free to mutates on a "no questions asked" basis, the drug is extremely addictive; ten times more than nicotine or other non-conventional drugs. Studies have not yet shown the side effects of withdrawl, nor anything else for that matter. What's proven is, that the drug works. People seem to be pretty content with that.
The drug, appropriately called "Kick" for the near euphoric mental state one receives after taking the substance, shocks the neurological system, and even masks DNA. Those experiencing more physical mutations, have found themselves nearly completely human in appearance once again.
Things also seem to be relatively calm, in the small city of Kerncorde, Massachusetts. The city, located 40 miles from New Bedford, is nestled at the very tip of Buzzards Bay. Kerncorde is a cozy location, spanning right along the Bay, which pours itself out in the the Atlantic Ocean. Kerncorde abides to the new laws protecting mutants, as everywhere else. Sure, the locals tend to keep to their own, and stick to their corrupt mutant myth and lore beliefs. Most faiths tend to hand them off as Satan spawn, Unholy and damned. Most businesses avoid interaction, yet Kerncorde denies any confrontation of either parties. And heaven forbid, should a human ever sleep with one.

You are a student or not, you work or you don't. You have a mother, father, perhaps you're a sister or a brother, a human with nothing remarkable about you at all. Yet deep in the darkest parts of yourself, you know this isn't true, that this, though it may not be for some people, is for you. One day, unlike any other day, you open a door and find that it does not lead where it should. Instead you find yourself in a place unknown to you, a place without windows but with many doors, and many rooms. There is a woman here, and a cat, and nine other people like you, and not like you. It's time to pay for your sins... The Labyrinth is an original horror game focusing on character development and psychological thrills. Game will start when all applications have been received! Useful Links: rules | wanted | apply | cast | main | ooc | contact list&friendsbutton-lcked In New York, there lies a small town called Farmingdale, or to most of the younger residents there; F’dale. F’dale is your normal, small, quiet neighborhood. Its high school is known for their amazing lacrosse team, Dalers, but that’s basically it. They do not stand out on the map, and they do not want to. They like being their own, little quiet place. Frankly, they do not like being disturbed. But secretly, they are being watched. By who? Nobody knows. But it doesn’t matter because they have no idea that they are being watched, right? Not necessarily. In the year 2000, a large blackout was spread across New York, and during that time, people were disappearing from their sleep in Farmingdale. When they came back, they had a mysterious scar somewhere on their body, but they have no memory of being kidnapped. They go on with their lives like nothing happened, because frankly, they didn’t know anything happened, until one day weird things start to happen. They start to develop an ability; a paranormal ability. They have no explanation for it except for that scar. Not like that would help. So far, nobody has been killed by their powers. Some people are still being kidnapped, but they return home safely within five days with only a scar and their memories of it erased. Farmingdale’s color was previously green representing the Dalers, but with all the kidnappings, it earned the name Black Farmingdale. GAME STARTS WHEN WE HAVE SIX MALES AND SIX FEMALES. |
The Premise |
It's the year 2004, six years after the war and life has moved on in peace since the defeat of Voldemort in the battle of Hogwarts. In this time of quiet, a sudden string of disappearances shakes the wizarding world. No one knows where the disappeared people are, what's happened to them, if they're alive or dead or even if they left by their own choice or not. Aurors stand without answers; newspapers and radio speculate wildly and the Ministry is in an internal uproar of power struggle and arguments. In these times, Aurors and hit-wizards are given more authority as more and more rules and laws are set aside as the Ministry tries to persuade people they're safe from harm. What is going on? What is happening to those who disappear? Why are some groups targeted more by the Ministry's new actions than others? Does the Ministry know something they're not letting on? And does perhaps the Minister himself have something to do with what is going on? Let your character help to sort out what is real from what is false... |

In the year 2008, a virus swept North America. Ever vigilant for a pandemic, citizens boarded up their windows, stockpiled their canned goods, and turned their neighbors in to the CDC. Short wave radios fell off the shelves, evacuation routes were prepared. Gas masks and specialty filtration systems were distributed. Pills were available for those showing early symptoms. Pills that did not work. That were later replaced with cyanide as their active ingredient. For those who were brave enough to put their fingers near a loved one's mouth. The United States, Canada, Mexico, the virus swept down into South America and festered in the heat of the jungle. In some places it burned out. Superstition ruled and saved lives. But nothing stopped the virus. Three months after the first diagnosed case of Currere Excessum was recorded, NATO approved Great Britain's use of nuclear force against the United States. It was assumed that all organic material would be reduced to ash under the impact. It was assumed that the Quarantine of the Americas would be temporary, at best. Any who survived the blast would be given the highest in humanitarian attention and medical care. The only American emissaries who knew of the plan lay incinerated in Washington. The Quarantine continued. The Americas lay abandoned. Empty. |

PARADIGM_CITY . PARADIGMEVENTS . OOCPARADIGM . PARADIGMLINES THE SETTING Rural New Jersey, 2010. Paradigm, a smallish town near the coast, just a few miles away from Ocean City. What if there were kids, teens--adults even!--who acted just like all those stereotypical characters on the screen? Paradigm is a roleplay game of the interaction between characters fitting the common archetypes of popular media fiction; from "The Prince" archetype in fairytale and disney movies to the "The Dojikko" archetype in anime and manga. It's all original character in completely stereotypical categories, set in a town where strange things are treated like the norm. |

The power of belief is stronger than anyone could ever imagine, it is more like a force of nature than anything, something real and almost tangible. What gives Belief this power? Humans. What they believe in the most, what holds sway over their heart and soul is who is in favour, who holds the world in the palm of their hand. When the belief in God and his Light is strong then the world is held in his favour, but as soon as that belief is questioned then His grasp looosens and Darkness begins to enter. For thousands of years the Gods of light have held their own against the darkness, winning the eternal battle which rages. However in the past three hundreds year that light has begun to slip, darkness has snuck in over the land, stealing into the hearts of the mortals and taking the place of their belief in the divine. Forcing them to question how God could do this to them. It is because of that questioning, doubting their faith in Him, that Darkness was given the chance to rule, to take over His place. They didn't dally, didn't wait. They were ready and they struck like vipers. With darkness came sin; violence, hatred, greed, lust. The acts of the Humans deteriorated into vile deeds which tore apart the World and the belief system which had reigned for so long. It was at this point, some two hundred years ago, that some exceptionally power beings of darkness realised what they could see; a dark age. An age where darkness ruled the mortal realm, colliding with Hell as heaven was finally eradicated. What we are looking for; » Dedicated, creative, self-motivated players who are willing to push boundaries. » Due to the nature of CoS we would like to see some strong characters. Characters who will force others to take action. » At CoS your hand will not be held through plot and it is expected of you to push your character forward regarding plot. » Players who enjoy a dark setting and like to push limitations and themselves. | |
