It's a little early to be giving Christmas presents. Anyone else end up with a mysterious gift with no indication of who it's from? I don't really need a

BOYD'S EMPLOYEES.

I'm going to close the shop on Christmas Eve and keep it closed through Christmas Day. Boyd used to do this every year which I didn't understand until, even if there were jobs to be done, and I guess I don't want to break tradition even if it's not widely celebrated here as much as Solstice. Vallo can wait. Checks will be ready to pick up tomorrow and you'll be paid for the time lost for having the shop closed whether or not you were scheduled to work that day.

I'll handle whatever work was on Michael's plate for the rest of this week and redelegate when everyone comes back.

They're what I had. It's only been a day. I figure I would've gone shopping for something else eventually, they were getting heavy.

And now you don't have to, thanks to your mysterious gift giver. Is there anything else that you're currently using that isn't viable in this environment? I'm curious to see if you end up with any other replacements over the next day or two.

I'm not in the market for new underwear, if that's what you mean. Don't have a coat or winter gear, though. Tell you if any mittens pop up.

I definitely meant more of the mittens or coat. Do you really not have a coat? I could give you

Just got here in my flightsuit yesterday. It's not that cold out there anyway, I'll find my way to one.

Are you used to more extreme temperatures? Back in Virginia, this is about the same for winter for me and it never stopped really being cold.

Grew up in Baltimore without much, so it could get pretty cold. But up on the ship the temps were pretty well regulated as long as everything was going right.

I know how that is If you were from Baltimore, how did you end up in space?

Killed the right people Got into the apprenticeship program for mechanics and got a job on an ice hauler.

And ice hauler? You really are used to colder temperatures, then. Are you still interested in doing mechanics?

Well I wasn't out there chipping the ice off the rings myself, we've got machines for that. And I kept them running. Yeah, I'm good with mechanics, keeping things going. There that kind of work around here?

It depends, I guess. I own an auto mechanic shop that is predominantly working on vehicles, but there's a ton of other work that needs the skills of mechanics who have worked on other machinery. We recently lost one of our mechanics to Vallo weirdness and if you're looking for a job.

I’m about to close the garage for a few days for Christmas but if you want to come by after, I’ll set you up with something?

Yeah, sure. I'll find some way to occupy myself until then.

How do you feel about history podcasts and do you have a trailer I can make better?

I don't know what a podcast is and I don't have a trailer yet.

It's people who tell you audio stories or facts and stuff. No reading required! Bummer. If you get one can I make it better?

That sounds pretty good, kind of thing you can listen to while you're working. And sure, I don't see why not. What would you do to it?

Yeah, I'm still in school but I can't read so Adam and I listen to history podcasts at the garage. Make it bigger? Cooler? I'm a metalbender.

That's real smart, learning while you work. What's that, what's a metalbender?

School is stupid overall but I guess it's important to pass or something. I can bend metal and earth with my mind, it's cool and I'm a badass.

Hey, school is important. Your brain's the only thing that'll get you anywhere. Yeah, that does sound really badass. Sounds like you'll put mechanics out of a job, doing it all with your mind. Won't need lugs like me to turn a wrench.

Math is dumb. I don't think I put people out of a job, I just make Boyd's BETTER.

Math is useful. And good, I need something to do. I get bored easy. I bet you do make it better. I'll have to get myself a trailer so you can make your improvements.
