Who wants to go see some weird art with me?

Warning: it's going to be very weird. Vallo City's performance art scene is pretty wild, and WEPT (World's End Puppet Theater) is maybe the wildest of them all. They have made puppets do things that legitimately disturbed me. BUT, their puppetry actually is amazing, both for construction and performance, and it's worth going to see even if "what even was that?" isn't usually what you like to come out of a theater thinking.

It's just $5, and it's at the Odditorium at 9 p.m. on Friday before the drag show, which I'll probably stay for if anybody else is up for coming along. (If you don't know drag show etiquette, I'm happy to fill you in before showtime. Mainly just make sure you bring cash to tip the queens.)

So who's in? (Kaitlyn and Iris, you can answer but I'm dragging you with me no matter what you say.)

It's completely insane, you'll love it. You haven't fully lived until you've seen a puppet murder another puppet and make red ribbon blood fly all over the stage.

I think I may pass on the puppet show this time around. However, I would like to go to the drag show after! Do you know if Countess Chocula will be performing tonight?

While I'm thinking of it, I still owe you a tour of the Going Merry, I apologize but things were a little weird last week.

No Countess Chocula this time, but we do get Reverend Tammy Lynn Righteous AKA The Pastor of Muppets and Greta Von Snapp, who are both hilarious.

And do not EVEN worry about being late on the tour. I've been in Vallo for more than a year, I know way too well how it messes up people's schedules. I recently lost a bunch of friends to it and wasn't in a great place for doing fun stuff the past couple weeks anyway. So we should just try again!

Oh, no, I'm so sorry to hear that. I lost my captain at the same time, so I understand. It's very difficult when people leave like that.

But, yes, let's try again! If you would like to come this weekend, that would be perfect as I have a little time off. I can give you a tour. If you're up for it, you can pet the Kungfu Dugong or we can do a little sailing.

It's not weird! It's usually pretty crowded on Friday nights and it's not a huge space, and if you're not feeling that vibe right now, that's completely understandable. Maybe we can do something else this weekend, though? My therapist has been on me to try taking a short hike in the forest.

I want to go because that puppet show sounds bloody wild. But I don't do well in small spaces like that, especially if there's a large crowd. I had it under control since being here. I don't remember exactly what happened up there in Space, but It's set me back.

It's a wee bit embarrassing, this. I hope you don't think less of me, for it.

The puppets bang, the puppets murder each other, the puppets do human sacrifice, one time I saw a puppet dance in a rain of blood...it's all kinds of stuff. A lot of their "thing" is having puppets do things that human actors would never get away with.

They do! Honestly, if it's a type of art, there's probably somebody in Vallo City doing it. And WEPT is really good, like Muppet-quality puppets.

WEPT always has a booth up after their show, so you could either give them a donation or buy a t-shirt or something if you want! Also I love that you want to do that.

Puppet show etiquette is just the same as regular theater etiquette, so it's pretty easy! Keep your feet off the stage and be quiet when the house lights go down. :)

I did not buy tickets yet - I figured I'd wait until I knew how much company I'd have. Want to go for Italian in the Void before we hit the show? I feel like a bottle of wine and a bunch of garlic knots would help us prepare.
