[Defense]

Patrol report - I've got a number of what I'd call earth elementals here near the edge of the forest. I've managed to communicate with them enough to encourage them not to play 'toss' with the fully grown bear they were passing around and use a boulder instead. They seem harmless, if a little lacking in common sense.

I don't think it's anything to be too heavily worried about but heads up if there are still any elemental concerns.

I can't imagine the bear was very pleased by that. Was she harmed?

Startled, mostly. As far as I was able to tell.

It probably would have been a mistake to get close enough to tell for certain.

I'm glad that these ones seemed open to suggestion.

I just hope one of our nature-inclined friends might be able to track our bear down to see how they're doing. But yes, I honestly wouldn't have wanted to get into a fight with these guys.

I'll keep an eye out, though I'd only observe from afar. An injured bear can take my head off nearly as easily as a hale one, and would be far more inclined to.

No. I don't think I'd last very long against a creature that can toss a bear around like a ball.

I've gone up against bigger and stronger, but that doesn't mean I want to. Sometimes there's better solutions.

Better to use diplomacy when you're able, I agree.

Just how strong are you?

Exactly, and I try to make it as able as possible.

It's not something I really try to brag about, but I've yet to really find an upper limit.

I suppose given enough time this sort of thing will become easier to accept?

A couple months at this point.

At least they're not causing any floods, so I'll take it. And these largely seemed harmless.

I was kind of hoping they'd piss off with the kraken.

Yeah. I guess it'd be too easy to think they'd all left at the same time...

We're seeing less and less overall, but I suspect these things may actually exist year-round and we've somehow managed to hit a centennial summit or something.

I'd add that my partner and I came across some of these very sorts a couple of weeks ago as we were walking home and while they were bested, they did attack without warning so they seem to come as all sorts. Though, I'm sure the bear was happy about the swap. Quick thinking there.

I feel the same way, honestly. We're all fine, though. I got hit a bit hard in the shoulder, but Dorian was quick with some healing so it didn't turn into anything worse.

Can't go wrong with having a healer handy, that's for certain.

He's gotten me out of a great number of scrapes that way so I'm thankful, but he's also getting very good with a sword so he's the whole package. He's very easy for me to talk up, clearly.

Regardless, hopefully the elementals clear up soon. Or, at least, hopefully they remain just a general pain and don't decide to band together.

You know, I have the same hopes.

I think a bear is better at curling into itself, but to be fair I wasn't really considering the logistics until just now.

I will give you logistically, the bear would be the better choice. However the moose would be more amusing.
