I almost forgot Pride was this weekend!! Being a mom is... all-consuming, and tiring, and stressful, and definitely one of the best things that's ever happened to me (after meeting my wife and marrying her, obviously).

But anyway, I don't think we can do Pride the same way this year, but is two weeks old too young to do the family stuff on Sunday? I need a consensus here, please.

We took Gracie to Fight Club when she was two weeks old, why not? She wears noise cancelling headphones. We take her fucking everywhere with us. Strap the kid in the baby carrier sling thing and go if you want, and if you don't, use the baby as an excuse.

[...] That's a really great idea. Do they make baby-sized noise cancelling headphones? Or you just use the big ones?

Yeah, I know, I have a million fucking good ideas. They're baby sized, or else the one headphone would literally be the size of the baby's head. But it's outdoors so unless you're going to a concert or whatever, they should be fine--up to you, obviously, you're the parent.

I had no idea they made baby headphones. This is going to send me down a crazy rabbit hole, I know it. I'm not sure what they really do on Sundays? I need to pull up the whole schedule and check it out. I feel like a concert might be pushing it noise-wise, even with headphones, but maybe not?

Depends on the music and volume. Parades are the same way, if there are sirens and whatever the fuck else, maybe not. If you don't feel comfortable, don't do it, and if you do, you do. You could go on the other days too, they're mostly sleeping at that age anyway and if they're awake, everything and anything is new so whether or not it's specifically for kids is, eh.

You've really got this parenting thing down, Diego. I read all the books and tons of articles and advice, but I feel like I've learned nothing compared to what I'm learning from you right now.

Fuck me, stop. I don't have a fucking clue what I'm doing, but I love my kid and I love her mom and they're both always going to know it.

I'm right there with you. Catra and Finn are the most important people in the whole world to me. I might mess up, but I hope Finn always knows when I do, it's because I'm trying to do my best for them.
