Thank you for those who have been helping me settle in. While it's certainly an unusual place (skipping down the street for half an hour was not something I wanted to do but I do suppose it could have been a lot worse.

Also, to those asking no I am not going to go to school. I am eighteen and education is not something I have ever enjoyed. I am looking for thins to do with my time though.

I was never good at spelling or grammar either, you must remember that. I picked up the other languages because I had to not because I wanted too.

Well, that is where technology can be very helpful. There is such thing as a spelling check.

Besides, if you are going to be a captain some day you will have to study some military strategy, at least. I am sure you cannot learn everything by circumstance alone.

It has been useful but what if we are not using technology?

Of course, that is different to education.

It is not different at all! Anything you learn is education. And you can learn about all kinds of strategy here, from throughout the centuries, not only our own.

I hadn't thought of it like that. So sword fighting is education?

If you are being taught, and not simply hacking at each other with blades, I suppose.

Even with the latter, we learn what does and doesn't work.

That is a very good way to get one's arm cut off.

NO one has done that yet.
