Hello, hello. I've questions about this Moon Day, if you don't mind? You see, back home, there was a whole line of beliefs and magical abilities bolstered by the night sky - glintstone sorceries was the most common area of specialization (and mine!), but a few focused on moon magic. I'm very curious to see if this astronomical event has any effect on my spells. Does it truly happen but once a year? I suppose I'd better get busy if I want to get any research done whatsoever. Moon magic isn't my strongest specialization but I'd be a bad member of the Caria family if I couldn't manage any of it. So, questions!

  • Is moon magic typically affected by this event?
  • Is there an astrologer about that can read my fortune? I've not had it done since-- well, insert horrid things happening back home here.
  • Is adhering glow-in-the-dark stars to my Moon party outfit "too much"? I want to be too much.
Thank you!

Astronomical events can be used to power spells or boost magic in my world too. I have some spellwork planned for today becaues of it.

What kind of spellwork, if you don't mind me being nosy?

Makes perfect sense. A lot of our moon magic produces frost as a secondary result - I thought I might see if I could cool things down a little 'round here.

Oh, I love knowing people who know people.

Perfect, exactly the sort of glow I wish to exude. Where might I purchase such glitter? I'd like it to get everywhere.

Thanks for the reminder and the glitter. Will you be going to the festivities? I love a good chance to show off.

We used the moon back home to renew our magic. Or at least that's what it was supposed to do. I think there's a couple of local covens who take advantage of Moon Day to do something similar.

What's glintstone sorcery?

I'll have to keep an eye out for them; we shared similar beliefs, what with the waxing, the waning. I'm curious how much overlap there'll be.

It's the foundation sorcery in my world - we take the energy in glintstone crystals and use it to power our magic. Glintstone is a specific type of stone that was formed by the falling of stars, you see, so astronomy and astrology are baked right in to our magic system.

For me I've found that some things are very similar and then other things aren't at all. So its always fun to learn new things and share stuff.

Do you have to wear the glinstones to access its magic?

The learning's been my second-favourite aspect of this place... right after not dying horribly, of course.

Our staff is usually made of it, one way or another. But yes, most glintstone magic is easiest when we've strong access to it.

We've falling stars in my world, and the crystals formed from their detritus allow us access to celestial energy. Which we use for protection, offensive magics, preserving magics, healing... the usual things you'd use magic for. Do you practise?

Are they quite numerous then, the falling stars?

I do. Same end results, but not with the same means.

They are. There are whole caverns of them, from times past. Caverns large enough to hold dragons and dragons. We're fortunate in that way, I suppose.

You'll have to tell me about it. One thing you should know, as a new arrival, I like to get in everyone's business, and I'm sorry in advance but there's no stopping it.

~Astrologer~. I'm putting that on Adam's business cards.

Do you know those stupid pillows where you push the shiny tabs one way or the other and it changes how the pillow looks? You could pop some arm holes into one and slap a moon on your chest.

I--- don't know those stupid pillows, but I must admit - you've got my attention.

This shit. I'll ask Sargent. She probably has ten in a closet somewhere.

Better than Fingermaidens, I'll grant you that.

I want twenty of those pillows for my flat. That said, if I were to wear one, I'd want it altered to perfectly fit me, which we don't have time for. Maybe the next party I can be multicolored like that. I rather like the idea of inviting pets.

Only if you enchant whatever you're wearing to also occasionally have a glittered comet fly across and the stars to coalesce into images might that be too much.

Darling, I make it a point to be the most.

It's definitely more my partner's scene than mine but the heart could be persuaded! And you can always swing by the shop where I promise wine and plenty of magical accouterments.
