Hello Outlanders, I'm Ruby. I realize this may be terrible timing, especially with the disappearance notifications that went up today, but the wife and I thought it might be about time to poke our heads out after taking our first week here to settle in.

Any Storybrooke natives here? We were told at the DOA we may recognize some names.

And I'm sure Belle would like any library recommendations, so we'll take those if you have them, too, please. We only have the one back home, but I'm getting the sense there's much more variety here.

Ah. That sounds...

Honestly, I don't even know what sort of adjective could properly finish that. I hope it wasn't as unpleasant as it sounds.

Please do. I'm a librarian there, so I'm sure I'll see you.

At the time, it wasn't. I didn't know it was happening. Time stood still in our town for almost thirty years, so - looking back, complicated is probably the best word for it.

I'll come by. I'm not as bookish as my wife, but I feel like it's something I need to witness in person at least once.

Complicated about covers it, yes. I'm happy to hear that the curse was eventually lifted.

You must, really. It's like nothing I've ever seen before. It's likely my favourite part of Vallo.

We were all glad for it, too.

I'm sure it is. Having the Great Library here is a big deal. Are we talking about the modernized or the ancient version?

It does have some of the comforts of the modern era, but no, it's from ancient times.

Do you mean to tell me you know of a modernized Great Library?

I'd like to say I'm that informed, but to be honest, I just did a quick Google search and found Bibliotheca Alexandrina.

The wonders of the internet.

Amazing. That's astounding. I wish I could see it in person, but it was 1908 when I was brought here and so I doubt I'll ever have the chance.

Well, you have the chance to see some version of the original here. That's pretty amazing itself.

It is, and even less likely, so I'll consider myself lucky. Who knows, maybe the modern one will pop up here one day as well.

Is that a pattern in Vallo? Things from other worlds showing up as well as people?

Yes, actually. I recently received a house myself. It's one of the many mysteries of the place; I can't tell yet if no one's yet tried to unravel these mysteries very hard, or if they've just been unable to make any kind of headway if they have.

I'm not intimately familiar with magic, for the most part, but this place bleeds it - even I can feel that. And I've learned over the years that a lot of magic isn't easily explained, so I can't imagine Vallo's mysteries are either.
