I have spoken with several of you now but had not introduced myself here.

Lan Mandragoran. I am not used to settling in one place for any long amount of time, but the potential to stay here for months, if not years, so I believe settling might be inevitable. I am a Warder in our world, to Moiraine Sedai, who arrived shortly after I did; if I may be of use to your defense teams, I will put my skills to their use.

May I ask how many of you had to adjust to all of this technology? I still find the phone unwieldy and temperamental.

It doesn't respond at all to yelling at it, I've learned that much. I've also been informed that the Department will only replace the object once with no questions asked if you show up with a smoking, mangled little pile of metal.

Have you been fighting with your phone, Wisdom? Did you explain sometimes you cannot help the lightning?

They said the first replacement was no-questions-asked, so I didn't explain anything. I'll save explaining for next time this thing takes a picture of itself instead of telling me how the lights work.

I half expected you to say you have already broken it a half dozen times by now.

Not yet, but the wretched little brick should not be too confident of its continued safety.

I saw above that they have classes for how to use the things properly?

I do not think it has the capacity to feel confident at all, but I cannot claim to know its secrets.

Yes. Would you like to attend one with me?

I hope not. If it can, it's probably laughing at me

Yes, I I'll be just fine by my You don't have to
That would probably be for the best. I hate to be wasteful.

I have never found an enemy you can't defeat, I know this will be the same.

I was planning on looking into it this weekend, I will let you know.

Thank you.

Do you think it's true what they say about us not actually being missing from our world? That even though I'm here, there's still a Nynaeve Al'Meara making sure Egwene doesn't get eaten alive by the White Tower?

I don't know. They could lie to give people comfort in that, to make them less likely to search for a way home. Or it could be the truth shared from others that have come and gone before. I hope that it is true, though I think Egwene could take on the whole of the White Tower if she put her mind to it.

I mistrust most people until I have a reason not to. That said, I can't see a motive for bringing us here and lying to keep us here. And believe me, I've been looking for one. But it all seems as random as a summer storm.

She probably could, but that doesn't mean she should have to do it alone.

I know, I agree. And there is less hostility than I expected for outlanders.

It's entirely possible she'll follow you here, she's just making you sweat it out a little.

Much less. Honestly, I think I'd trust them more if they trusted us less.

That would be like her. Egwene's always been her own woman, even when she was just a little girl.

Some people are more welcoming than those of our world, hardened from their burdens.

Much like you, I imagine?

There doesn't seem to be a constant looming threat of the Dark here. I suppose that would breed people less watchful.

Yes, that is one thing we have in common. It's part of why I thought she'd make a good Wisdom. You can't protect a village if you let people push you around just because you're young.

Perhaps, there are still monsters and things can always go wrong when magic is involved. I have heard some stories.

Age is no indication of skills.

Magic is full of opportunities for things to go wrong. I don't know what I'm going to do now that I

That's what I kept trying to explain to the Village Council. I was barely old enough to braid my hair when they made me Wisdom, so it was a constant fight.
