I have spoken with several of you now but had not introduced myself here.

Lan Mandragoran. I am not used to settling in one place for any long amount of time, but the potential to stay here for months, if not years, so I believe settling might be inevitable. I am a Warder in our world, to Moiraine Sedai, who arrived shortly after I did; if I may be of use to your defense teams, I will put my skills to their use.

May I ask how many of you had to adjust to all of this technology? I still find the phone unwieldy and temperamental.

One of them. I'm Sara Lance. Takashi Shirogane is away at the moment. I have no preference. The teams are made up of a variety of people with different training and skills. Use what you are comfortable with.

The phone got easier for me when Dorian showed me how to set it so it would listen to me rather than having to press the letters. I’m a swordsman, not a jeweler. My fingers are not made for that kind of delicate work.

I am a swordsman as well, but I've found that it does not like to listen to me at times. Perhaps there is a trick to it.

I find it works best if I treat the device like a particularly stupid knight recruit. Give it very specific instructions, one step at a time, and do not be surprised when it does precisely what you tell it to rather than what any sensible person would understand that you wanted it to do.

Ah, gotcha. We’ve got a whole clan of Lans here - Chinese, so they go family name first. Mandragoran didn’t sound like any Chinese name I’d heard before, but Vallo throws so much weird stuff at us that it seemed worth asking.

For me it was the strange mixture of technology that confuses me. In some ways it is more advanced than my civilization and others much more primitive.
