I take back every nasty thing I've ever said about this place before. I didn't think I'd ever see my baby again after I sold her when I left LA, but there she was, parked right outside of Morningside this morning.

Guess I'm gonna have to spend the rest of the day getting reacquainted with her.

I've worked so much on a certain '73 Camaro that I wasn't sure I could still place anything else. We don't see many cars like yours coming through the shop.

I've always loved those classic Camaros. Doubt this one will be coming through much either though. My old man taught me everything I need to know about keeping her in good shape.

Saves me the trouble of trying to source parts. It's surprisingly easier to find some kind of thermo-magical spark plugs for whatever hovercraft gets pushed into Boyd's than it is to locate a timing belt for a Ford.

I assume the car was your father's before you had it?

... Shit, I didn't even think about what a pain in the ass it's gonna be to find parts here.

It was. He bought it new a couple years before I was born. Used to say he was glad I didn't show up earlier, since there's no way mom would have let him buy a two-seater if there was a baby on the way.

I'll send you a list of the people I use at the shop, though it's not extensive and probably requires you to explain the part you'll need in great detail. And if you're really pressed, Toph could probably make something that will work.

And now you reap the benefits. Sounds like a good deal to me, especially if he taught you.

Thanks. Appreciate it, man.

It was definitely the hardest thing to part with when I wound up leaving LA.

Anytime. I'd rather not waste my time or yours if you know how to fix it and are just missing a part.

Needed the money or didn't have the space in the new place you were going?

Bit of both. I was headed to Germany. Wound up spending the last ten years before showing up here travelling the world, and it was hard enough finding the cash to get me from place to place, let alone a car.

Was the travel experience at least worthwhile? Sometimes giving up things important to you for something better takes the sting of it away.

I... don't really know. I was looking for someone, and I wound up here instead.

Will it bother you that you're here and unable to continue that search? Did they know you were looking for them?

It did. It does. I'm still coming to terms with the fact that I'm stuck here. But I guess if I have to be stuck anywhere, this place isn't so bad. Fucking weird, but not bad.

And yeah, he knew. I'd almost caught up with him before I got brought here, but he'd managed to slip away at the last minute.

It's been almost two years for me come January, and it never stops being weird. I can confidently say now, it's better than home though.

Was he dangerous to others or just trying to hide from you?

There are definitely parts of it that are better than home.

Both, I guess. I spent two years trying to arrest him, but I'm not anymore. Maybe he thought I still was.

It could have been worse. I thought it was tame in comparison.

Part of the charm is it breaking down, consistently and unexpectedly.

Is it, though? I mean, I don't think I'd know what to do with a Pig that didn't do that, but...

One day, we're going to fix the Pig for the last time and not even realize it.

If we manage that, I guess we have a lot more magic than we knew.

More like a miracle, but I'm trying not to be blasphemous where Ronan can see.

Maybe a little of both. Lol. I think Ronan would forgive blasphemy. Probably.

I mean if anyone would, it's definitely you. I'm waiting to see if my 'used to be a ghost' card will ever stop working.
