ALL STAR PARTY! FOR JULY 31ST!

Peter had not understood his management's request to wear light colors, a white shirt if he could, until he entered the tented area on Wimbourne Field and was struck with a glob of what felt like paint. He stared down at the bright pink bulge on his chest for a few seconds before looking up to find the culprit, a tiny intern from the back offices who looked mortified that he had been the one to strike Peter. But, the week had been a good one for his team and for himself, so Peter just spread the paint across his shirt like a claw mark and continued on his way. If this was their theme, he was going to run with it.

Anyone who came into his path had a pink hand-print somewhere on their body, whether it be in an appropriate place or not. He was enjoying very much the attention that had been put on the Wasps, and with their latest addition milling about somewhere, the news fresh off a post-game announcement, Peter was feeling excellent about the rest of their season.

Perhaps he needed some yellow paint, with all this team spirit he was feeling. Peter made his way through to a table where the necessary supplies were at the ready, and dipped two fingers into the bowl of yellow paint. With keen expertise, he spread thick lines across his cheek bones, as if ready to go into battle.

His spirits high and the lights down low, this was certainly going to prove to be an excellent night.

As she felt a flurry of fluttering low in her stomach, Greta idly wondered if a cold drink had the same general effect as a cold shower.

She hypothesised yes, but only if that drink contained no alcohol whatsoever. Probably no sugar as well, it would be best to avoid associating Ludo Bagman with any even mildly addictive substance.

So, water, really.

"A rather rude one," she agreed, neither refusing nor accepting his offer of a drink just yet. Being intoxicated in Ludo Bagman's presence—unfaithful, girl-crazy, capricious, selfish, wildly attractive, very broad shouldered, so dashingly blond Ludo Bagman—was a very poor decision. For some reason or the other, the word 'no' was not quite able to trip off her tongue. "But then, of course, that line of reasoning only works if you have an aversion to being rude."

Now she wished that she did have a drink in her hand, if only to give herself something to do other than try very hard to avoid staring at him. Unfortunately, the only cup in her hand was full of paint, and it seemed inadvisable to consume. Instead, Greta settled for running her finger around the rim. "Do you?"

Ludo scoffed at the question as though he were baffled by the idea.

"Me? Rude?"

Really, anyone who had spent even five minutes with Ludo would know that he often didn't care about whether or not he was being offensive when he spoke. He spoke his mind – he was blunt, and he often said what was on his mind without sugar coating it on behalf of someone's feelings. It was a turn-off to a lot of people who didn't know him very well, but his closest friends and family knew that the things that came from Ludo's mouth just happened to be the things they didn't want to hear, but needed to be said.

"Sometimes," he finally answered, the guise of being offended dropping away from his face to produce a cheeky smile. "I've always found rudeness to be relative," he continued. "For example, if I were to tell you that you wear that dress incredibly well – which you do, by the way – you could think I was being rude because I had to have taken notice to make such an observation. Or, you could have thought I was being rude by not saying anything at all about how, even while covered in paint, you look stunning."

And she did. Ludo always thought Greta looked beautiful, no matter what she wore, but it was more than just her physical appearance that made him feel the way he did around her. She challenged him the way he needed to be challenged. She called him out on his bullshit when no one else would. She was smart, and she was warm, and he had fucked things up because he hadn't treated her any differently than the other women he had been with, even though he should have. He hadn't ever expressed how much more she meant to him, because he had been afraid of rejection, or being laughed at.

Ludo Bagman was brutally honest with everyone but himself.

"So which is it," he asked, his head tilting a bit. "Have I offended you, or can I get you that drink?"

Saying, even jokingly, that his mere presence offended her daily would be implying she thought about him daily, which she did not, and would absolutely give him the wrong impression. She had not spent the last three years pining or anything of sort. Ludo Bagman had been… an experiment, against her better judgment, and a failed one. "Well, speaking from a purely hypothetical standpoint, I would imagine if you had offended someone, the best course of action to try and get back in their good graces would be to buy them a drink," Greta mused, trying not to give the appearance of stalling, even though she was..

Because, sweet Merlin, she found that she really wanted to say yes. To give herself some credit, she was not sure if all of her wanted to say yes—it seemed like just a very vocal if minor part of her, one that had been feeling awfully neglected as of late, was clamouring for the attention.

"Come on, Bagman, I'm in a good mood," she said. And really, what better way to show Ludo that she was absolutely one hundred percent unaffected by him? "I'll condescend to grace you with my presence for one drink."
