I somehow by questionable means obtained a upgrade in GPS navigation It is in-dash, so I will need to have it integrated into my Prius. I do not commute too often as most of my work is telecommute based from home. However, I will need it after the third of January.

I welcome any suggestions as to businesses open during the holiday season (perhaps Tink, if available), so that I am not left with a GPS that is sending me toward random locations that result in further gridlock or attempts to send me driving off overpasses. This represents an unacceptable safety hazard that I no longer wish to engage in.

You could always use your phone. Google updates their maps more often anyhow.

I prefer it to be more of an on-board console.

The've got mounts you can get for your car so it's still hands free. I wouldn't advocate unsafe driving. From what I can see, everyone drives unsafely already.

I had one that was on a mount and I found it to be sub-par, despite the fact that it was considered a top of the line device. This new model also integrates to the radio tuner for up to the minute traffic updates through NavTraffic, along with CD and DVD playback.

I am currently inquiring to see if there is anyone working during the holidays who can integrate it into the vehicle in question, in a quick and timely manner, prior to January 3rd, 2013.

Indeed. It is my hope that it is truly "awesome" and functional.

If you're not a professor, you should be. And I could mean awesome in the literal meaning of the word. I think it's really amazing how we have the technology to guide us. No more stars for us. of course we try to own those anyway.

I am proficient in computer programming and statistical studies for scientific purposes.

It is also true that it is amazing the advances humanity has made where technology is concerned. There yet remains to be seen if there will be any breakthroughs regarding space programs in the near future, given recent funding cuts. At the very least, there is the Mars expedition. That is some consolation.

That's just as important as education. I still don't know what I want to do.

I remember when I was little I wanted to be an astronaut. Alas, it'll never happen now.

All good things come in time. You have time to discover what it is that you are interested in, just as there will be time in the future for the space program to recover and/or compensate for any financial shortcomings.
