I have writer's block. All I can write is "It was a dark and stormy night."

Suggestions?

And this would be acceptable as an alternative to sheer horror?

It could totally become horror. Have you ever dealt with a hull breach? Horrific.

No, I have not. I take it you have, though.

No. Because my brains are still in my head and didn't splurt out my eyesockets.

Anyway, the moral is, there's plenty of horror in space. Most horror focuses on the fear of the unknown, and lots of space is unknown here.

Yes, I see your point there.

Space. I have no experience with it personally, but I suppose I could research it.

It would give you something new to do! I'm Akima, by the way.

Akima, a pleasure. I'm Edward Cullen, horror novelist in this world. Certainly not in the last, though, which is what is giving me such troubles.

Oh, I gotcha. That's probably pretty hard. Nothing's worse than a bad book.

What kind of stuff did the previous guy write? I mean, horror wise.

Ghosts, the world ending, torture, zombies... anything dealing with the supernatural.

I'm afraid I'm at a loss as to how to keep writing that.

The supernatural is kind of difficult to believe, anyway. Monsters represent the past, a dark but largely harmless time, since it's not happening anymore.

Science fiction is kind of the hope of the future, and showing the horrors that the future can contain can be startling. I've seen some of the armageddon stuff that's out, and it's pretty shocking, even after living through one.

Does it? That's an interesting theory.

You did?

I was a baby, I barely remember life before the Earth went boom.

The Earth I came from was quite beautiful. Hopefully you're enjoying this one.
