Now Time for Tainted Talents

What: Everil is officially contagious
Where: King and Queen's Inn
When: Morning
Rating: PG
Everil forced herself out of bed as her body almost collapsed. She was needed at work. Her body was still covered with a thin sheen of sweat from the fever that she had managed to break in her sleep the night before. Trying not to think about herself or her situation, she wiped herself down before changing out of her drenched shift and into her green dress. Her hands shook so much she could barely lace up the front.
You know you deserve this, the voice in her head taunted her as her fingers slipped again. Determined, she kept trying. Memories kept coming of her parents and Aerin taking care of her when she had been sick when she was six and then again at when she was twelve. Now she had no one. You're false, cruel, and selfish! You use people without a thought to their feelings! Everil flinched violently which spun the room for her, making her lean on the table for support. At least her head was clearer. She knew that she should have called a healer, but hadn’t. Frankly, she hadn’t wanted to. She had been miserable for nearly a week and had almost welcomed it.
Now though, she had to move. The innkeeper had been kind, giving her food and water, when she could eat it. Tomas would think that she would not be coming back and she couldn’t afford that. It also gave her a reason to keep going. She forced herself to eat the dried bread from the night before and gulp the remainder of water even though she didn’t feel hungry. Carefully pulling her boots on, she had to pause every few seconds for her vision to clear.
She almost made it through the inn proper before her legs gave out and her knees hit the floor, the heels of her hands keeping her from spilling completely to the ground. Tears of humiliation tried to rise in her eyes as she pushed herself back onto her heels. Shoes came into her range of vision followed by a hand as she continued trying to blink spots out of her eyes in order to see who was offering her help.
