I understand that I don't have the touchstones (in this world) to recognise or respond to potential threats in the way that some of the residents of this tower -- particularly if these residents have 'super powers' and are accustomed to battling overblown rhetoric and violent imagery with any regularity -- but I do know a terrorist when I see one. I do understand what it means to be a connoisseur of fear and to have such self-aggrandised delusions regarding oneself that they overtake all of the airwaves ...

But -- hear me out, here.

There is a point. As much as I rail against being called a lamb, there is a purpose to making this society think on its sins. I would hazard to say that this person will get there eventually. I hope it's sooner rather than later.

Still and yet. We've every reason to listen.

Perhaps.

Clearly I will have to keep the religious rhetoric out of my next network post. I am, however, not condoning any unlawful action on the part of this terrorist.

There is an intentionality in this lesson. Perhaps SHIELD understands but since they are just as shadowy (and have perhaps condoned as many atrocity as the terrorist named) as this broadcast, I haven't any idea.

And I'm suggesting that we critically analyse it.

Could you hack all the airwaves like that?

So what's the lesson? "The past will kick you in the nuts?"

[Henri]

With the right equipment? I could probably hack all the airwaves in the United States. But it would take more than one hacker to hack every television channel in the world.

It's the atrocities -- the mass killings -- condoned by 'good guys' which is what I think perhaps is being highlighted here. A simple lesson for we lambs.

[Lisbeth]
A resourceful, powerful person then ... oh, goody.

"Accountability?"

[Henri]

On the bright side, you're not one of the infidels. On the downside, you're living in their Tower.

Full marks. Someone has to pay, I suppose. As guilt is human nature and debt is the remorse we do or do not feel (and those who think we must or musn't feel it) ... Gray is wrong to ask if we as people are motivated by guilt. Clearly someone thinks we should be and that's the crux of it.

[Lisbeth]
Well. Yes.

What kind of equipment would you need to trace their signal?

People are motivated by what you convince them to be motivated by.

[Henri]

You might want to invest in a t-shirt.

If I had access to a local television station, it would be easy to identify the point of origin of a broadcast signal. The problem is that the point of origin might be a hub in Chicago -- which might, in turn, trace back to a building in California. It would be less complicated to hack the satellite feed directly at the time of a broadcast, but that would require a dedicated server and a more sophisticated computer than the one that they gave me.

I've made some friends in the underground. I could ask them to keep an eye out and give it a try if this nutjob goes attention-seeking again.

Buy it for me?

Your underground friends and my university friends ...

What if we could get you the equipment. I just might have to enroll you in NYU.

You want me to buy you a t-shirt. But you want to steal me some computer equipment?
