Well, this is... new.

I'm still not entirely convinced that this isn't a drug-induced hallucination. If it is, I have to say that the absence of dancing mops and trumpet-wielding elephants is a little disappointing. LSD is to Fantasia as [mystery drug] is to waking up in a Seinfeld episode?

If you happen to see a cantankerous, misanthropic, intolerant, self-involved, antagonistic doctor with one working leg, I suggest that you run in the opposite direction. He won't be able to catch you.

At least they can fly?

I don't want to know what happens to the Playboys that aren't misdelivered, if you and I are going to be honest with each other.

With injured wings? Not an experiment I'd recommend passing by the Swiss wildlife authorities.

Something much less interesting than what happens to the misdelivered ones. In fact, I'm relatively sure that the activity in question dates back to at least 1890 -- despite the valiant efforts of Mr. Kellogg.

You can't get anything past the Swiss, they're just so committed to being uncommitted.

Only those things the heart believes are true.

A yellow fog swirls past the window-pane

As night descends upon this fabled street:

A lonely hansom splashes through the rain,

The ghostly gas lamps fail at twenty feet.

Here, though the world explode, these two survive,

And it is always eighteen ninety-five

There is comfort in routine.

A difficult art to master. You can't help but admire such practiced indifference.

I have little doubt that some Sherlockian society or another has gotten their hands on a hansom or two. It may not be 1895 all the time, but you could probably find a place where it's 1895 every other Tuesday.

I'm torn between avoiding Sherlockian societies entirely -- and the desire to crash them whilst holding a stereo over my head playing Peter Gabriel.
