I would like to take a moment to remind you that my name is Janet. One essential part of my programming is to assist in anything I can for any human being. It appears that this only works for the Displaced, as there are fourteen Janets in town, and I have not yet been called to any of their houses. I would recommend that when you ask to talk to Wasp AKA Janet Van Dyne, that you not say the full name. Thankfully, she prefers Jan over Janet, and then I won't show up in any strange and bizarre situations such as the one I found myself in when she was scolding herself over a dress design.

No, that was an example. Other examples are singing a child to sleep, stepping over a flower bed carefully, sneezing into your arm instead of on the people in front of you. The things that get you the post points are things money cannot buy. Intent is always taken into account as well. I know a person who raised billions for charity, but their intent was to outdo someone, not for the people she was helping. That left her well into the negative.

I guess, you must know more about it than I do. It just seems like some good people get stuck in bad situations... If I died before I escaped the Red Room, would that be what I was judged on even though I've gone on to do good things since then? Is potential taken into account at all? Some people aren't given the chance to be better. It just seems sad, because some of the best people I know had questionable pasts.

Unfortunately, all point totals stop the moment you die. Hardships, privilege, and upbringing are accounted for to a certain extent. If you're under a certain age, your actions are tallied differently because you are not in control of your facilities completely. For example, children made to do terrible things at the hands of a guardian will not lose points. The guardian will lose a great many for forcing a child to do those things. The system is not as straightforward as it seems.

Okay. But are people given second chances, if they didn't realize they were so bad? Where's the line drawn, exactly? What about people that are in the middle and are almost "good enough" but don't quite make it? Can't they get some extra credit?

Sorry I have so many questions!

I'm sorry, but knowing there's a punishment or reward after skews the numbers, and as I said, intentions count.

I am here to answer all of your questions.

You're friends with that Jason guy, right? The one that tried to steal food from a restaurant?

Yes, I know him. We were married in one of my reboots.

Aww, I guess love comes in the most unexpected places. So are you helping him or something?

I am forbidden from helping in the Real World. I'm simply an informational delivery vessel designed to assist those in the Good Place. Things became complicated when I was stolen and rebooted over 800 times.
