The Brothel Age : : OOC Community for The Dragon A

I'm horrible at this introductions as I tend to ramble. There's a tl;dr at the end if you'd like to just skip to that.

Hi! I'm Brandon, and entirely new to this game! I've been RPing for about 16 years now in a wide variety of fictional settings, that most notably and recently include a few stints into Harry Potter and prior to that a Hyrule based RP. I've made it around the sun about 28 times, am married, have a beautiful (if ridiculous) 2yo daughter, and the wife is pregnant with twins. I work full time, but in an office, and AIM/Y!M/Gchat is always running on my phone and I ABSOLUTELY want to talk to you about anything and everything. I'm a one journal character kind of guy, so I'll be focusing all of my attention on Ser Urban, who you really came here to see.

Ser Urban! He is a Knight-Lieutenant of the Templars. As a Templar, he is devote to the Chantry, following the will of his superiors just about blindly. This isn't to say that he's incredibly serious, no in most situations he's quite amiable and gives one the impression he believes himself to be truly blessed just to be wherever he is. This amiablity is of course, not so apparent around Mages that are not in the Circle (including those Warden Mages) or Darkspawn. He's got a bit of a sordid past, in the Lyrium smuggling trade, but all of that is absolutely behind him, and will probably never ever come back to bite him -cough-. He has some open chunks in his recent history that I would absolutely love to fill with any minor or passing interactions with the rest of your characters!

Hi all! I'm back, and so is Dar, after...oh man, what nine months absence? Yikes. Many thanks to the mods for permitting me an extended break in the circumstances!

In good news, I've now got a healthy baby girl. In more relevent news, she's old enough that she sleeps through the night mostly, which means I have enough sanity to take up roleplaying again. Hurrah!

I had a number of obscenely old one-on-one interactions that weren't finished with, hmm, Pavak, Emil, Elsa, Imenry, and Genikon, as I remember...do you want to pick up where we left off, or is it too long ago now?

So happy to be back, though oh man I must have a lot of reading to catch up on!

Something quick and easy for a new meme!

Everyone has an approval rating with everyone else. Sure, it's not always positive, but everyone's got one. So how to make it a meme? Well, post on other peoples' characters with and approximation where on the scale of -100 to +100 you are with them, and add a title to your feelings for the other person!

Hi guys. I admit I still haven't gotten used to the speed of things here and would like to do something away from the current quest. I really don't know anything off the top of my head, but I'm open to suggestions of what others would like to do.

Post with your characters and everyone replies with a "top five" topic, list, category, etc. for each character, such as "five tattoos Genikon would get" or "five reasons Brennan would get in a bar fight." Then, obviously, either you can answer the top 5 ideas or we'll offer suggestions! Serious or fun!

We would like to introduce a couple of new things we will be implementing to the game. Some of you may recall the email we sent out a bit back in regards to improving activity. In light of the responses we received we will be implementing an Incentive Program for extra posting. We will also be introducing a Wanted Plot Page in order to help people start up more side threads and connect with other players, as well as participate in excess mod run side threads. So, for those of you who are either new, haven't heard the gossip or haven't seen me in an absolute panic over the preparations, I'm getting married here in a week! Yes, me and Chris are finally getting hitched (took us long enough didn't it) and going on our honeymoon. The total hiatus will be from October 10th through the 21st, though I may check in to read posts, I probably won't be tagging anything.

This applies to Azabeth, Matt and Garrett; since at least one of those characters is in immediate mortal peril, I grant permission to Niki & Kelsey to puppeteer my trio as necessary to keep them alive until I get back. XD

Hello everybody! My name's Paul and I've been playing online RPGs for over a year now. I was introduced to this game by Kim and while my Dragon Age-fu is not as good as I'd like, I hope to enjoy myself here.

I'm bringing Barak Helmi into the game, a former dwarven noble who acts as a hired bodyguard and mercenary. He's currently heading for Amaranthine to find work.

We would like to remind everyone to track their plot threads and respective OOC post. For those unfamiliar with the process, tracking involves pushing this button on the journal page. After tracking, any new additions to the plot post or OOC post are sent directly to your email. This will allow you to stay current on what is happening, especially when it comes to the OOC posts where the mods leave additional information about the quests.

We know many of you have strong opinions about the upcoming political season. However, we ask that you keep in mind that not all of our players are in the same political parties nor do they hold the same opinions. Therefore, because we want this game to last beyond the upcoming election, we are going to try making chat a politics free zone.

Hey all!

Since the final quest of round one is wrapping up, here comes an update about the second round! In order to make the threads run smoother, we are trying out just having two groups, instead of four. We are hoping that will help the flow, as well as give more chances for side threads.

While some of you are already aware of which groups you will be in, the updated lists below include our newest characters as well. You will also find summaries for what exactly the mission goals are from the start. Our goal for starting the missions is August 30th, the first day of the Activity Check after the current one. Please let us know if you have any questions about the quests or the groups you are in.

Hey, everyone!

Just wanted to put a note out there, the summertime is pretty busy at my job (I work in Experiential Marketing, aka events and stuff like that!), so I've been working about a month straight so far. Usually when I get home I try and relax a bit, and usually I'm on my laptop, but it is totally broken! :( So I've really only got my desktop left, which is a little less relax-y than the laptop. That means that I've just become super lazy, which I hate being! I've totally been leaving stuff to the last minute though, and I definitely don't want to continue doing that!

So! I'm being proactive now :) I'm looking to fill a few threads with the following characters to bring Falon into the game:

Oh, I do not want to do this. I've been wavering for about two weeks knowing I should and not being able to make myself. Gah. Apologies to everyone I've left in limbo thereby, especially the mods.

I'm sorry all, but I need to drop. Pregnancy's still going fine (er, for the most part), but I hit third trimester in a week, and unfortunately it's been sheer unfounded optimism on my part to think that I could to get my act together enough to roleplay while I'm doing this.

I have loved playing here with all of you. The characters are terrific, the plot is interesting, the world-building/expanding/whatever we'd call it in this context is detailed and a delight. When things do settle down I absolutely intend to re-app Dar and return, or if the mods give me an option of taking some sort of more extended leave rather than officially dropping, I'm on it. (since we're between missions at the moment, hopefully that'll help and she can be assumed to have either stayed in Amaranthine with the Wardens for a time or wandered off or somesuch, depending on what's appropriate)

Edit: Scratch that! The mods are allowing me to go on extended hiatus during my pregnancy, so Dar will be dropped to an NPC for the time being but I'm not actually dropping. Hurrah! Thank you mods!!
