Closing

Hello everyone,

We have been working together for the past several years, but it seems our time is coming to an end. The Dragon Age has been struggling for awhile now with updates and posting. Part of this is the mods' fault; unfortunately, some of us no longer have time to devote to the game. However, it seems there is a general lack of interest on the players' part as well. We wanted to let everyone that we will be closing the game and if you have any comments please let us know.

This shouldn’t prevent anyone from branching off and continuing as PSLs or group PSLs. We suggest contacting other players to see if they want to continue writing their characters. The contact post is here. You can also post on the OOC. If you want, you can continue posting in TheBattleAge and other comms, we will maintain their status on insanejournal so they will not be erased.

Getting to know the peoples

Hello all, i bring forth the Erik! up for adventure, laughter and dark times... as long as he gets paid. he's a man of action who works primarily for money though his sense of right and wrong, and on occasion his thin paltry code of honor, can step in to make him do the right thing instead of getting paid. He will gladly work with anyone who isn't a blood mage, and even does work gratis on rare occasion.

On the way less awesome front, im Sean, and even though i know a few of the people here (niki/sister, jenni/GF, Danielle, Kelsey, Jess, Alice and Justin) im excited to meet the rest of you! Im nerd lvl over 9,000. been roleplaying in every format (tabletop, game, LARP, etc) save for this written style for that vast majority of my life and im excited to start up another section to add to the wall O' Awesome i call my nerd career!

Uhm.. lets say im pretty horrid at intro's and go with that. im down to answer any questions and chat about whatever and look forward to meeting/playing with yall :D

Ps: Taco/nacho are two words that i overuse.. you have been warned...

PPS: if this intro sucks, blame the army.

New Tag: ! unfinished

We recently implemented a new tag, ! unfinished, into our posting system on TDA. It is for all incomplete works that, for whatever reason, have been left unfinished.

As of right now all works marked incomplete that have not had a post since 2014 have been tagged unfinished. Any incomplete works with characters who have left the game have been marked as complete for now.

Please look through the tag and let us know if there are any threads that should be marked as complete and see if there might be any threads you want to start working on again. The tag is chock full of some excellent stories that we would love to see finished.

Also if you ever revive any of the unfinished threads tell us and we will switch them back to an incomplete status. From now on we will not be checking any unfinished work for activity.

Greetings beloved Earthlings. It's Jess (Falina) and I've really, really missed you. Even you, people I don't know yet.

The mods were wonderful enough to accept me back into the game, after a long time away. I'm eager to make up for the lost time and the lost lines, and get back into the thick of it with you guys.

Smut Prompt/DD Night

Hey guys, nothing official or anything, but a few of us had been in IRC the other night and it's been a lot while since we'd had a smut prompt night, or just a night of pure silliness with our fellow RPers. So I thought I'd put it out there for anyone that's interested to respond here for when they might be available for a smut prompt night - what nights of the week work best for you, what times. I'll update this with exact dates and times once we have some consensus.

Anyone who shows is welcome to write or simply offer prompts. For anyone who can't get into IRC the filled prompts will be shared here on OOC in this thread or another, updated as they're written. More details given when we have interest and a date!

Quest Info: Round Three

Hey guys it's that time again! We've plotted out our next round of quests and set up the groups for these. You can find them as well as brief summaries of each mission below. We again have only two groups, who are both technically heading for Orlais, but in very different areas.

If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to ask us at any time.

The groups will be leaving from Amaranthine on 8 Parvulis. Previous Mod update stated that Genikon's group arrived back 24 Matrinalis and Declan's 20 Matrinalis. Please feel free to set up scenes in the Keep during this down time. We will post an update when we get close to starting the next round of quests!

New Character, Old Player :P

Hey guys, it's Niki here with my fourth character. Yes, I actually earned the points for a new one and I have here a Rogue Elf Bard from Rivain. Please feel free to check out my bio for any details. A quick summary for anyone interested. She's former Qun, though she ran away when she was 15 and spent the rest of her formative years with the thieves guild in Dairsmiud. There she learned how to fight and how to perform as a bard. She is a skilled singer and dancer and uses a small hand-held drum. She left Rivain about 3 or so years ago to accompany her mentor to Orlais, where she has been entertaining nobles since. So if anyone has some time in the past few years spent in Orlais, as I know only a few other characters hail from Rivain, I'm open to plenty of back scenes. So feel free to hit me up here or on her contact post if you'd like a thread :) Otherwise she'll be joining the group during the next plot quest. I just figured I'd put her out here for any interested parties.

Greetings, o' peoples. I come bearing Lorius, aka "Kore's little brother." He's roaming about in Ferelden on a fetch-quest from his owner, and not being too obviously magey. It helps that he's not a very good mage, so he tends to only fall back on the magic when he's in a situation only magic can deal with. He's very polite, but very boring on the outside. Inside he's a seething mess of fear and paranoia and operates on the assumption that everyone is trying to kill him. So that's a thing.

As for me, I'm Regina, I live in Florida (EST), and I work a regular eight-to-five. I have a cat. I am generally pretty boring and come with the standard gamer girl equipment: custom build desktop, MMOs, alt-itis, and an inordinate fondness for cheese and icecream. And zombies.

I am also a big fan of explosions and things being set on fire. ^_^

I don't really use AIM, but am easy enough to get ahold of via google-chat and email, thanks to this tasty-wonderful thing called my Fancy Mobile Phone. Woo.

Hiatus :/

Short version: life hates me, I am a frazzled neurotic mess lately, and trying to better myself may cost me my job, so I need to step away from TDA for a little bit.

Long version: I'm trying to get into college classes, but in order to do so, I need a copy of my GED. Since I took the test literally almost ten years ago, the paperwork's been lost in our many many moves since then, so in order for me to start school again, I need to retake the GED, now that the standards are stricter. (Some of you may have seen me freaking the fuck out about this elsewhere. :/) This will cost me both actual money and lost wages (I've already had to skip a shift to get to the assessment) and chances are I may actually lose my job if life continues to conspire to fuck me over. I am so nervous and upset about these things that I'm pretty tempted to go curl up in a corner and die. :/

My test date is July 10th and I would appreciate all the prayers and happy thoughts you can loan on this matter. MY return date should be soon after that point, but right now I just cannot handle it.

Another New Character!

So... you guys already know me, and from the mind who brought you Kallian Endris and Eligia Milagros, I bring you... Ingrid!

And, because I clearly subscribe to the Jean-Paul Sartre School of Character Development, she's a templar from the Anderfels, recently arrived in Ferelden. Her full information can be found here. But... She's been widowed for just shy of 2 years. Her husband was a Grey Warden who served at Weisshaupt for a little over ten years (so, fellow Anders, even if you don't know HER very well from before, it's entirely possible you might have known her husband).

Obviously, she's very pious and tends to agree with the Chantry on most any given issue, but she's not one for proselytizing (that's the clergy's job), and she actually does try to not judge others right away (that's the Maker's job). She's a very practical woman, and fairly easy to get along with--though she will Frown Mightily at you if you speak ill of the Chantry or the Andrastian faith.

And just for you, Garrett, she smells of lyrium, earth, nervous energy and tallow soap, and probably a little bit of darkspawn taint since she wears her late husband's Joining pendant around her neck.

So... Let's give her a nice, big, warm Ferelden welcome! Let the CR begin! ^_^
