Marlene Summers was horrible at making decisions. Always had been, in fact. Oh, her past life as a King couldn't have given her any useful skills like that, oh no. She had to have issues with realizing and understanding emotions, relationships, and any matter concerning love and the heart. Her story? Yeah, it kind of sucked. It kind of sucked a lot -- but, then again? Arthurian Legends weren't exactly known for having a happy story with a happy ending, were they? No need for happiness in the Middle Ages after all, right? Everyone died or ended up alone and that was that.
Of course, bits of what happened then just had to carry over into this life, didn't it? Oh, her life wasn't horrible, not by any means (she'd somehow managed to still maintain that 'royalty' status, to an extent), and in fact? She was happier and better right now than she'd ever been in her life. She couldn't possibly dream of or ask for much more to make her life go much better, now could she? Things, for the most part, were going perfectly. Really, a part of her honestly felt as she didn't deserve some of the things she currently had (including Troy. Especially Troy.), but she wasn't complaining. Life? Was good.
... or, well. She liked to think that. There was one unavoidable thing that was nagging at her, tugging at her, and gave her one of the worst feelings in the world -- the feeling of knowing she was about to hurt someone greatly and there was no way to really avoid it. It was the sort of thing she knew that, at some point, she'd have to do. That in itself was unavoidable. She really wished that it could be, though. A bitch she might have been? But she was never one who relished in causing others unnecessary pain. She hated herself for having to do this, but... she had to, or else things would never be settled and finished.
Dark hair was pulled on nervously as she chewed on her bottom lip and hugged her stomach tightly, words playing over and over in her head as she paced about. A hand came up to toy with the necklace around her neck as she leaned against her car, trying to keep herself busy. It was a nervous habit of hers, the need to move about -- especially when she felt like this. While she wanted to get this done and over with, she also was perfectly content with putting it off, but that was impossible, so... sigh.
Wrinkling her nose a bit, she rubbed the bridge of her nose with her fingers and waited to spot the familiar figure of one Nathaniel Bradshaw.
