"That... pathetic look," she said with a small stamp of the foot. "I hate that look." A pause. "And you? Are such a hypocrite. Ugh."
Suddenly? Suddenly that statement made her feel.... guilty. After all that was said and done he'd still gone out and gotten her that... that damned bracelet and ugh. Normally, those short replies of his would annoy her and she'd have a row over that. Today, oh it bothered her. Not for the usual reasons, though. It meant admitting with and dealing with things sooner and that sucked. A lot.
Now that? That had hurt way more than she had expected it to hurt. The silence was probably worse than most things that he could have said and, at the moment, she was ridiculously glad that her hair was long enough that she could at least hide behind it. She bit the inside of her cheek sharply, bringing one hand up to press against her mouth, practically cringing when he spoke again.
Hearing the car door open caused her head to jerk up in response as she took a step forward to stop him, the slightest hint of desperate pleading in her voice as she spoke. "... Nate," she said after a hesitation, first reaching her hand out and then pulling it back. "Don't. Please. Just... don't."
She hated when people walked away from her. Period. It was just one of those things that really got to her and drove her mad in one of the worst ways possible, especially right now. Oh, she didn't blame him for wanting to leave or walk away. Not at all. In fact, had she been in his position, she'd be doing the exact same thing.
Drama? What?
Letting out a shaky breath, she went silent for a moment before speaking again, her voice small. "Nate. I'm sorry. I can't tell you that enough, I don't think. Please -- don't. Just... try to understand?"
