As always though, no one even needed to tell him he was right because he always ‘knew’ he was. Even when he was wrong he wouldn’t see it and if he ever did? He was mostly too damn stubborn to admit it and would run along with whatever it was anyway, probably looking like an idiot in the process, too. “What look?” He asked, not bothering to even try to feign innocence, the smirk still in place. “And yeah, you are.” Just because she was right didn’t mean he actually had to say that.
Not that he would say anything but the mere fact she’d been waiting for him? So okay usually that wouldn’t be something for anyone to get worried about, in fact, it would probably be flattering. Not in this case. It just… didn’t seem right and it was kind of freaking him out. Of course, he was the depiction of cool but who would know there was more going on than what meets the eye?
“I am a very generous guy," he replied with a shrug, suddenly not in the mood for long replies. At the next thing she said all he did was raise his eyebrows. Oh, he'd act like he had no fucking clue for as long as he possibly could. He did not want to hear this.
... but of course he had to.
Actually glad she wasn't looking at him all he could do was... well, nothing. Nate kind of just froze where he was and after what seemed like eternity he made a noise, like clearing his throat and nodded his head. "Okay."
Then the very next thing he did? Turned around and opened his car door again. She’d said what she needed to say and now Nate needed to leave. End of story.
