Gawain was shaking with fury as he left the Minister's office, though he tried to keep that under wraps. He had been wondering what was happening to the Ministry, what had happened to Pius Thicknesse, and now it had all become clear. The pardoning of the Death Eaters had been writing on the wall, and he just hadn't wanted to read it.

Now he had to include Death Eaters in his search for Harry Potter - and the Minister hadn't even pretended it was about Dumbledore any longer.

He used the lift ride to attempt to calm down. If he was this unhinged, his men would be even more so.

Bellatrix had been looking forward to this all week. She breezed through the Auror department, serenely ignoring the stares and the mumbling, dressed to the nines and more than ready to put the fear of herself into anyone who dared to cross her. A word with a weedy looking, wide-eyed fellow led her to the proper room.

Spelling the door open with a slam, she waltz inside, a poison-sweet smile on her face. "Auror Robarbs, I believe you are expecting me."

Gawain had never had the urge to take out his wand and curse a woman before. Then again, he'd never met Bellatrix Lestrange in person. He had a feeling she had that effect on people. Or at least on sane people.

"Robards - with a D," he replied, keeping his eyes on her. "And next time, please knock before entering."

He would not put up with disrespect in his own office, especially not from a murdering madwoman. He didn't care what the Minister said. The please was habit, and he hated himself a little for it.

He refused to thank her, though, instead nodding.

It took all he had in him not to take out his wand and take her down, then and there, but he didn't break the law - he enforced it.

Unwillingly, he gestured to the spare seat - not the one behind the desk, but another one, off to one side. Where an observer would sit, since she was, in fact, an observer.

"Have a seat. Mr. Krum should be along presently." Before he could say anything else - like give orders that she wasn't to interrupt the interview - there was a knock at the door.

"Come in, Mr. Krum."

	Viktor was still unsure why he had been called in, he hadn't even realized the Ministry was aware he was in the country. After knocking he was told to come in. "I am Viktor Krum, has my Ministry been informed that I am being interviewed? If not I vish to speak to the Bulgarian representative as soon as possible." He told th two people in the room formally. Hestia's eyes widened when she saw Bellatrix Lestrange exit the room that Viktor had just left. It was outrageous that she'd been pardoned and released from Azkaban, but now she was walking freely about the Ministry? Hestia knew that the Ministry had crumbled under Death Eater influence, but she couldn't believe that the officials would be so bold as to let convicted murderers run about.

"Let's go, Viktor," Hestia said as she steeled her face and took his hand. She couldn't believe that this woman had been allowed to question Viktor. When they were in a more private place, she would get details from him about what had happened, but until then, she would simply focus on getting them out of the Ministry.

	Following Hestia's gaze Viktor saw her looking at Mrs.Lestrange, the view clearly was upsetting her. He let Hestia move him away not keen to have much to do with the woman again either. "I would love to go with you." Hestia squeezed his hand once before Bellatrix whirled in around them. She wanted to keep as much of their conversation as private as she could. The less a known Death Eater knew, the better.

"Excuse us," Hestia said, attempting to hide the disdain from her voice. She wanted to leave the Ministry with Viktor as soon a possible, but their progress was impeded. She didn't trust this madwoman in the least, but Hestia hoped that she didn't do anything drastic in the middle of the Ministry. Regardless, she was well aware of the presence of her wand in the small pocket of her cloak.

"We were just on our way out. I believe Viktor has already completed his interview?" The woman might have been free to go about the Ministry as she liked, but she couldn't have any official power there. Hestia completely ignored the other woman's comments, she didn't want to know what conversation or interrogation she might strike up.

Alicia had received her summons that morning and made the appropriate excuses at work in order to make it in time.

She'd taken the lift in the Ministry, an uneasy feeling in her stomach, but she reassured herself that she'd done nothing wrong, nothing at all. And after all, Xavier worked for the Ministry and she knew him, they couldn't be all as bad as it seemed, could they?

While she hadn't seen the other man lately, or anyone else for that matter, she hadn't been preoccupied with it either. She'd been in France for the better part of a week, working on some exchanges for Gringotts, some investments abroad the Goblins were desperate to get into motion in Switzerland and Paris.

She couldn't really blame them, and the rumours on the continent had ranged from the truth to the wildly absurd (burning people in the streets, public floggings).

Now she sat and waited for her interview to begin, her hands folded loosely in her lap as she looked at the man across from her, a bit afraid to look at the woman, knowing very well whom she was.

Gawain looked over at the slender brunette witch and tried to smile comfortingly. Merlin knew she'd receive nothing of that from Lestrange.

"Thank you for coming in, Miss Spinnet. The Ministry really does appreciate your time and assistance," he assured her, holing out a hand. "I'm Chief Auror Gawain Robards."

He thought, briefly, about introducing Lestrange, but decided against it. Best to get started straight away before the bint pulled out all that shite about tradition.

"Now, you were in the same house - and were on the same Quidditch team - as Harry Potter, is that correct?"

Alicia felt a strange sense of Deja Vu, almost as if she had answered these questions before, which, of course, was ridiculous.

"Yes," she said. "I was on the team with him for five years, well, four, really, since one year we didn't play." She twisted her hands in her lap. So this was what this was about. Poor Harry. She'd thought of him often since the article in the Prophet.

Katie... was terrified. As a fresh graduate, she hadn't really had a chance to "go out into the real world" and make any trouble for herself. In fact, she really hadn't had much of a chance to realize she wasn't in school anymore. Not until the summons came prior to this meeting. Now, she realized, she had to fight her own battles (so to speak, of course!).

At the same time, she figured it wouldn't be too bad for her. She'd just tell the truth; she hadn't seen Harry since school ended the spring before, didn't know anything about his whereabouts. It would all be fine.

Let's just get this over with, she pleaded to no one in particular, in her mind, as she waited nervously for her own interview to begin.

Xavier caught the girl's attention and gestured for her to come inside. No need to let the poor thing sit out there, obviously nervous - it wouldn't hurt to start the interview a tad early. And really, just having a chat wasn't a proper interview. He'd not dream of starting it without Auror Lupin.

"Miss Bell?" he asked, gesturing for her to sit down in one of the chairs in the room set aside for interviews. "I'm Xavier Selwyn."

He gave her a faint smile. This one was mates with Alicia. He wondered what she knew about him - he'd find out soon enough.

Katie followed this interviewer into the office, putting on a friendly smile and nodding in acknowledgment as he called her by name. "Good morning, Mr. Selwyn." Forcing herself to remember her manners through her slight nervousness, she greeted him in response before taking the offered seat.

She really wasn't sure what to say or do, but she hoped he would at least make bearable small talk while they waited so she wouldn't fidget in her seat so obviously.

"I'm afraid you're a bit early so the other interviewer isn't present just yet, so we can't start things officially until she gets here. They get so tetchy at that," he said, watching her closely. She didn't seem to acknowledge his name with anything more than politeness. Alicia was probably keeping secrets then. Interesting. He was fairly certain she didn't know he was a Death Eater - it'd been dark when they'd been in his bedroom and he'd made certain to wake up and dress before she rose.

"Tell me about yourself, Miss Bell - where are you working these days?" No harm in small talk - or at least that's what he'd say when Auror Lupin protested.

Cho was dressed in a fine, yet conservative set of robes. Her make-up charms were perfectly cast and her hair was swept in an elegant style. It was perhaps a bit too much for her surroundings, but it was the only armor she could wear. Her hands were clasped so tightly together that her nails were nearly gouging holes in the backs of her hands.

Merlin, how long was this going to take?

	Gray wasn't that keen that she was going to have to do this again. Wasn't her interview with Ms Chang enough? I didn't do that bad a job. "Oh no, not nearly everything, Miss Chang," Xavier drawled from where he lounged in the corner. He pushed himself up, giving the Chang girl a polite, brief smile as he held out his hand.

"I don't think we've been properly introduce - shocking considering we run in the same circles, unlike some," he sai, his eyes definitely not flickering toward the so-called Auror. She looked young enough to be his daughter. What was the Ministry coming to these days?

And though Chang's family was pureblood, this one had a disturbing tendency to get mixed up with the wrong crowds. Was it a folly of youth, perhaps? That remained to be seen.
