Gawain was shaking with fury as he left the Minister's office, though he tried to keep that under wraps. He had been wondering what was happening to the Ministry, what had happened to Pius Thicknesse, and now it had all become clear. The pardoning of the Death Eaters had been writing on the wall, and he just hadn't wanted to read it.

Now he had to include Death Eaters in his search for Harry Potter - and the Minister hadn't even pretended it was about Dumbledore any longer.

He used the lift ride to attempt to calm down. If he was this unhinged, his men would be even more so.

Bellatrix had been looking forward to this all week. She breezed through the Auror department, serenely ignoring the stares and the mumbling, dressed to the nines and more than ready to put the fear of herself into anyone who dared to cross her. A word with a weedy looking, wide-eyed fellow led her to the proper room.

Spelling the door open with a slam, she waltz inside, a poison-sweet smile on her face. "Auror Robarbs, I believe you are expecting me."

Gawain had never had the urge to take out his wand and curse a woman before. Then again, he'd never met Bellatrix Lestrange in person. He had a feeling she had that effect on people. Or at least on sane people.

"Robards - with a D," he replied, keeping his eyes on her. "And next time, please knock before entering."

He would not put up with disrespect in his own office, especially not from a murdering madwoman. He didn't care what the Minister said. The please was habit, and he hated himself a little for it.

He refused to thank her, though, instead nodding.

It took all he had in him not to take out his wand and take her down, then and there, but he didn't break the law - he enforced it.

Unwillingly, he gestured to the spare seat - not the one behind the desk, but another one, off to one side. Where an observer would sit, since she was, in fact, an observer.

"Have a seat. Mr. Krum should be along presently." Before he could say anything else - like give orders that she wasn't to interrupt the interview - there was a knock at the door.

"Come in, Mr. Krum."

	Viktor was still unsure why he had been called in, he hadn't even realized the Ministry was aware he was in the country. After knocking he was told to come in. "I am Viktor Krum, has my Ministry been informed that I am being interviewed? If not I vish to speak to the Bulgarian representative as soon as possible." He told th two people in the room formally. Brilliant. Two people he had to keep an eye on then.

"Yes, Mr. Krum, they have been. They were most cooperative, though insisted that for anything more than an interview, an attorney would need to be present. I assure you that you are in no trouble and all we want to do is ask a few questions," he told the rather belligerant young man. He held out his hand. "I'm Chief Auror Gawain Robards."

	"I like Eastern Europe and Bulgaria in particular. They have such an appreciation of the proper magic there," Bella drawled. 	Viktor gave the Auror a curt nod, he wasn't going to take any chances of being railroaded by a government that he wasn't sure was stable. "Thank you for that," as he shook the man's hand. 	Gawain cleared his throat. The woman was as mad as a bloody hatter and far more dangerous. "Let's get down to business, shall we?" he said, interrupting the chatter about tradition. Viktor was relieved that the Auror had taken over the interview since he had been very tempted to tell here where she could stick her rediculous thoughts, did she know who his family was? What they stood for?"

The Auror's question caught him by surprise as it was the last thing he would have guessed they wanted to talk to him about.

"Yes, I am an acquaintance of Harry Potter, although I haven't seen him in years. Not since the Tri-Wizard Tournament."

Gawain noted that in the file. "What about Hermione Granger? You were closer to her, weren't you?"

They had yet to get to Granger's house, but he hoped to do that this weekend or next. The influx of interviews he simply had to do had taken some preparation. They'd yet to go to the Weasleys either. And perahps, too, he was dragging his feet about both, though he'd deny it until he was blue in the face to anyone who accused him.

The rash of reports of dark wizards didn't help the workload either, especially when half of the reports were false alarms, which required just as much paperwork and less satisfaction.

	The next question caused Viktor to flush, but he nodded, "Hermione is a good friend yes, ve used to write each other but it has been avhile since that as vell" He hadn't thought about Hermione in a long time, and since his return to England, Hestia had dominated his thoughts. "How good a friend could the Mudblood be?" Really, this was getting no where. Didn't Rhubarb know that the best way to get answers was to provoke someone? Well, actually, the best way to get answers was to torture someone until their mental barriers started shredding and then casting Legimency. "Haven't you been reading the Ministry's pamphlets? Why would you want to be around a creature that stole magic from some poor proper witch?

Looking up when he heard his name Viktor was confused as to why Hestia was at the Ministry.

"Hestia? Vhat are you doing here? Are you alright?"

He took her into his arms as she was clearly upset and he didn't want anyone to see that. It might be taken the wrong way and after the interview he just went through he didn't want her to have a similar experince.

"Oh yes, I am fine, the Aurors just had a couple of questions about an old friend of mine. I answered their questions and they let me go" He explained.

	Bellatrix had gone in search of a cup of tea as Rhubarb's lack of manners meant he certainly wasn't going to offer her any. And what should appear before her but an opportunity. Hestia's eyes widened when she saw Bellatrix Lestrange exit the room that Viktor had just left. It was outrageous that she'd been pardoned and released from Azkaban, but now she was walking freely about the Ministry? Hestia knew that the Ministry had crumbled under Death Eater influence, but she couldn't believe that the officials would be so bold as to let convicted murderers run about.

"Let's go, Viktor," Hestia said as she steeled her face and took his hand. She couldn't believe that this woman had been allowed to question Viktor. When they were in a more private place, she would get details from him about what had happened, but until then, she would simply focus on getting them out of the Ministry.

	Following Hestia's gaze Viktor saw her looking at Mrs.Lestrange, the view clearly was upsetting her. He let Hestia move him away not keen to have much to do with the woman again either. "I would love to go with you." Hestia squeezed his hand once before Bellatrix whirled in around them. She wanted to keep as much of their conversation as private as she could. The less a known Death Eater knew, the better.

"Excuse us," Hestia said, attempting to hide the disdain from her voice. She wanted to leave the Ministry with Viktor as soon a possible, but their progress was impeded. She didn't trust this madwoman in the least, but Hestia hoped that she didn't do anything drastic in the middle of the Ministry. Regardless, she was well aware of the presence of her wand in the small pocket of her cloak.

"We were just on our way out. I believe Viktor has already completed his interview?" The woman might have been free to go about the Ministry as she liked, but she couldn't have any official power there. Hestia completely ignored the other woman's comments, she didn't want to know what conversation or interrogation she might strike up.

"I will be happy to comply with any official Ministry interviews, given the proper notice," Hestia replied coolly. "Any other questions we're not obligated to answer." She kept her voice even, her gaze steady. The other woman's words were intimidating, but Hestia wouldn't let them get to her. She wasn't going to let this woman believe that she was bothered. Hestia squeezed Viktor's hand, it was reassuring knowing that he was there beside her, but she was certain that now she would be to blame for any more trouble that he encountered.

Hearing talking outside and recognizing the dulcet tones of Lestrange, Gawain walked out, raising his brows as he saw Mr. Krum and ... Hestia being cornered by Lestrange. Buggering hell.

"No, you're not," he agreed, stepping up to the three. He smiled coolly at Lestrange, and then nodded at Krum and Hestia. "Mrs. Lestrange, I think Mr. Yaxley has requested your presence in his office, along with Mr. Selwyn."

And if not, well, that was Yaxley's problem. He turned to the couple, giving them the perfect opportunity to leave. "I do hope you both have a good day."

"Thank you, Auror," Hestia said gratefully. "I'm sorry for causing a bit of commotion here, that certainly wasn't my goal. I was just a bit worried." Hestia couldn't have said anything more true. Viktor was her one reason for dragging herself down to the Ministry, even if she knew that it wasn't safe for anybody to be there. She couldn't believe that she'd traded words with Bellatrix Lestrange, that wasn't a wise move, but she'd let her temper get out of hand.

"Have a good afternoon yourself," she replied. Hestia gripped Viktor's hand and quickly took advantage of the time they had to get out of the Ministry before somebody else tracked them down for another interview. She knew that she had a few things to explain to Viktor, and she wasn't looking forward to that conversation, but she knew that she had to do something to explain.
