Gawain was shaking with fury as he left the Minister's office, though he tried to keep that under wraps. He had been wondering what was happening to the Ministry, what had happened to Pius Thicknesse, and now it had all become clear. The pardoning of the Death Eaters had been writing on the wall, and he just hadn't wanted to read it.

Now he had to include Death Eaters in his search for Harry Potter - and the Minister hadn't even pretended it was about Dumbledore any longer.

He used the lift ride to attempt to calm down. If he was this unhinged, his men would be even more so.

Cho summoned a polite smile from somewhere. Thank the heavens for Aunt Ling-ling's insistance on lessons in control and diplomacy for all the Chang girls. She took the gentleman's hand despite the way she wanted to slink out of the room. Just being here was making her feel terribly trapped.

"I believe I know your face. You are a Selwyn, are you not? I apologize for not being able to place your given name." Small talk - she could do small talk.

	Gray wanted to roll her eyes at the two making their polite pureblood talk but she was sure that Robards would fillet her if she caused a scene. "That's quite good to know. And I'm Xavier, Miss Chang," he said, glad that the little Auror was going to let him take the lead. Perhaps there was room in the Ministry for that one after all, if she could take direction.

"Forgive me if we go over area that you've already been questioned about. I find it never hurts to be thorough," he said, glancing from her to the Auror - what was her name?

"Now, you dated Harry Potter briefly in school?" he asked, unable to keep the sneer off his lips.

	Gray had to grit her teeth as Xavier started in as the same questions that she had asked and reported not a couple of weeks ago. Picking up a quill Gray prepared to once again take down the response already certain about what Ms Chang was going to say. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	She was not foolish enough to tell this intense man that she'd already answered that question once. "I did," she said, lowering her eyes and tilting her chin to a bashful angle. "Harry and I did not date for long. We were too different." Most of the problem had been that he was not Cedric, but that was none of the Ministry's business. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

"I saw Mr. Potter briefly at Professor Dumbledore's funeral, but the last time I actually spoke with him was the morning after the att," she swallowed the rest of that word and quick chose another. "After the Headmaster's accident. And that was only really an exchange of greetings."

She had sought him out to make sure he was safe and not physically hurt. He had barely acknowledged her existance. She knew she shouldn't blame him for being abrupt, but it had still hurt to be dismissed so. After all, he had not been the only one in a running duel with Death Eaters through Hogwarts' halls.

	None of this was useful - it was nothing new, which either meant that the Chang girl was a gifted liar or really knew nothing. 	Gray watched the interview taking place and really had to fight to hide a smirk, Cho had been easier for her but that might be because she didn't look like a threat. Taking down the notes, Gray was a little curious as to how Cho would answer or if Potter would chance contacting her. By now he had to know the Ministry was on the look out. "I do not have a way of contacting him other than owling and hoping the bird can find him." Cho shrugged and tried to look flustered and embarassed. It was easy. "Even if the note did get to Mr. Potter, I doubt he would answer me. We are civil enough when we meet by chance, but the break-up was not very pretty. He would have no inclination to get in contact with me." And if he was so foolish as to be tempted, she hoped Granger brained him with a copy of Hogwarts: A History.

Cho stared at him, eyes wide and hand pressed to her chest. Subversive? Illegal?!

"I, I was a member of the DA, but we were not vigilantes. Or any of that!" She pulled herself back together as quickly as she could. "I was a Ravenclaw. And as I found professor for Defence Against the Dark Arts to be lacking in the ability to teach practical application skills, I admittedly jumped at the opportunity to supplement the class through Harry Potter's tutelage. Whatever else may be said about him, Mr. Potter is brilliant with Defence."

	It was hard, so very hard not to tell Selwyn where to stick it. Gray hoped that Cho had enough family power to perhaps make him squirm a little bit but she doubted it would happen. "I cannot imagine that school girl can be of any aid to you." And certainly nothing you'll get from me will help she thought, anger slowly overriding her fear. "He's cute and tends to brood. He flies like he was born on a broom. He's got the prettiest eyes in his year even if he does hide them behind those horrid Muggle glasses." She waved her hand in a throw away gesture. "I really do not know what else you want from me. I don't really know the boy. He never even made sense when we were dating. It may paint me in a bad light, but I went out with him because he was famous and I thought he'd be a feather in my cap."

Xavier listened, taking in the tinge of anger in her voice - at him or the circumstances remained to be seen. He smiled as she called Potter 'cute'.

"Well, I hope that feather was worth it, Miss Chang," he drawled, leaning against the table. He looked over at the Auror, raising both brows. "I have no further questions at this time. Do you?"

Chang might be one to keep an eye on. Perhaps someone should have a chat with her grandfather.
