Who: Vision & Gretel When: Evening 5.10 Where: The Park What: Playing Phone Apps Closed for now
Being reunited with Hansel...no, Hans...had been a lingering bittersweet experience for his twin sister. They were the same age, as they had always been, yet whereas Gretel had been struggling to fight and survive in their world, the last four years of his life had been apparently full of plenty, with things like regular nutritious food, a roof always over his head, the warmth of a bed and of family and community that didn't shun him or try to stuff him in child work houses. He had friends. He had a girlfriend, for chrissake. And he'd had all of that without her.
Even without processing in the presence of his older self or the world she now found herself in, it had all been so overwhelming. Over the last two days, Gretel found herself getting quieter, growing despondent just under the surface at the thought that the one person she'd ever had her entire life...had moved on without her, and no longer understood her. Even under the same roof, with the large adoptive family, she couldn't help but feel a kind of loneliness she had never before known- and she had no idea how to deal with it, besides do what she knew best.
She distanced herself from it, first by pouring herself into studying the phone-thing, then by invitation of Vision to understand it more. Maybe even distract her mind with something completely unrelated to her sudden life crisis. Still in her archaic leather and wool, much of which was ragged and worn thin by their travels, she quietly extracted herself from the full house and headed to the park. Vision was not exactly easy to miss.
