Under normal circumstances, there were plenty of reasons for someone to stare at either one of them. John's wardrobe was such that he might have passed most dress code rules but the down on his luck film noir detective look didn't always fit in. And more often than not he was smoking where he shouldn't have been or he had gotten himself covered in something nasty thanks to his work. The general air of smug arrogance didn't really help either, but he'd had that even back when he was a new warlock with his heavy eyeliner and leather jacket. In Zee's case, she knew she was beautiful. That had been an inescapable fact she'd had to deal with since her mid-teens, and maybe she played it up more now. Tight black jeans ripped in places to show off the fishnets she wore under them, the typical black bodice but with a tastefully distressed crop top with The Magic Castle logo thrown over it. Add to that her leather jacket, black heeled boots, and her fingerless fishnet gloves, all of which made her hard to miss. More than that though, in the universe she'd come from, she was a celebrity. She was perhaps the most popular stage magician still performing, her shows selling out everywhere she went even with magic not having the same draw it used to. And then there was the fact that she had been a member of the Justice League through the majority of her twenties and had never bothered to hide her identity. She was used to getting stopped for autographs and pictures when she went out. She thought she was used to the attention, but something about the attention she and John were getting felt a little off.
She was familiar with the concept of conventions, she'd been to enough of them centered around magic and the occult over the years, but this one was different. The 'vibe' of the attendees was entirely different and the majority of them were wearing either logos or costumes, some of which were very familiar to her. They hadn't even reached the main exhibition floor yet and she'd spotted at least two men dressed as Bruce with approximations of his batsuit. One of which had even been on the arm of a Diana, a sight that was odd enough for her that it took her a moment to notice that she and John were being approached by someone in some kind of costume she didn't recognize. He'd seemed nice enough, sparing equal long looks at the both of them, telling them they looked great. Zee had been about to thank him when he kept going and said something that made her crack completely and fall into a laughing fit.
"Your Constantine is really great, man. Ah cool, you actually made your trenchcoat look dirty, awesome attention to detail. Can I take a picture?" The guy asked, holding up his camera.
When she was able to contain a little of her laughter Zee nodded and nudged John a little, "Yeah, go on, let him have a picture."
