The road had been long and hard coming back. Somehow it had felt longer, since Arioch didn't feel that obsessive driving force that had taken him over mountains in search of his long lost brother. An hour didn't go by that he didn't ask Eric how he felt, how he was. He was overly solicitous, making sure his baby brother ate first, and drank the cleanest water. He had decided to circle the city instead of crossing it. He wanted Eric to see the caravan, the few who had survived since he had seen them last, before he introduced him to the Sin City.

"How are you doing, my love?" Arioch asked, walking beside his brother while their two bodyguards hung back, bringing up the rear.
