I don't think I want to do a whole degree or anything but I've been away from home long enough now that I probably wouldn't be completely lost if I did a couple of college classes. It might be a better way of learning about the normal world than the internet and tv. I would probably have to take one on, like, writing and composition and things since I've never written an essay or anything, but then there's so many others and I don't know what to pick. I've mostly narrowed it down to an introduction to sociology, history, anthropology, or maybe Earth or culinary science. What's the actual difference between anthropology and sociology?

Here, kid, I Ask Jeeves for you:
Anthropology is the study of human beings and their ancestors through time in terms of physical characteristics, environmental and social relations, and culture. On the other hand, sociology is the study of human society at a given period in time.

I tried reading their descriptions but it was sort of confusing still. They didn't really make the time part very clear though. Anthropology = past and sociology = present makes a little more sense.

You looking to study society for some reason?

Good reason. Anything else interest you?

The Earth and culinary sciences ones were because they looked interesting. I like making things you can eat, and since my magic affects reality it would be nice to understand how it works better. I thought about astronomy too but it looks like they want you to do physics and Earth science first. There were some other random classes that looked interesting too like ethics or human development but they all require introduction classes for the subject.
