So. My girlfriend is pregnant. Is it normal for her to feel sick?

Boy, you here?

I’m gonna recommend you get a ‘what to expect when you’re expecting’ book so that when she says something is normal you don’t ask strangers and her hormonal period (not just sexist she will have a hormone spike) won’t include your murder.

Hot tip; if a lady says something is normal, just go with it and accept she knows what she’s talking about.

I didn’t know there were books. I’ll do that.

I just wish I could make her feel better.

There are literally billions of books. Be very afraid.

Better buckle in. It’ll get worse before it gets better.

I’ll read some. All of them. Anything for Alice.

Worse?

They're gonna counter argue each other, but just take from them what you will.

Oh yeah, like full on bloating, discomfort, constipation, heartburn, flushes, cravings, needing to pee all the time, being hormonal, being horny.

I mean, our sex ed was pretty graphic about all the birthing stuff too, so that's gonna suck. But I think youth works well with pain tolerance.

That’s...a lot.

You paid attention during sex ed?

Maybe you should've too, sparky.

I enjoyed a very healthy sex life, but I didn't exactly have the disposition for a child.

I don’t think they offered it.

Yeah, well. We want the baby.

Ugh, do you go to an abstinence only school? Those blow.

Sure, happy for you, it wouldn't have been my choice. Hence paying attention to sex ed.

I don’t know what that means. I went to high school back in the 90s.

Um, they're the schools that teach you not to have sex, ever. Unless you're married and it's boring.

Wait, are you like time travelling or ... are you not a teenager?

Oh. Yeah. Now that you mention it I think that’s what the boy is taught. Sounds familiar.

No. I’m not a teenager.

Mildly changes my perspective but not the advice. Read literally every book you can, and definitely listen because she will know her body better than someone else.

I’m going to read the books and everything. I really just wanted to see if there was anything I could do to like...distract her from it, I guess. I know that it’s not a bad thing to have morning sickness.

Well, doing something nice after the puking might help? Backrubs and company for the puking, I know I like when someone holds my hair for me.

I'm going to recommend you get really good at giving a foot rub, really quick.

Yeah. She likes when I do that.

Thanks for the advice. I appreciate it.
