Feelings are complicated, but how does the person make you feel? That's kind of where I'd start. Do I think about them randomly? Maybe see something or do something that I want to share with them? When I think about them, what are my thoughts and feelings? Good, happy, giddy, light, silly? Do I want to spend time with them and get to know them? And then I start thinking about what if we were more than friends? Can I see myself going on a date with this person? Do I want to hold this person's hand? Kiss them? Hug them? Make them laugh and smile? How would I feel if they dated someone else or liked someone else in the way I like them? Why do I like them? What about them has them in my thoughts and feelings? Have you ever liked someone before? How does it compare?

It's a lot of self reflection, and it's messy, and it's complicated. There's a lot of physiological changes that can happen when you like someone, but I don't think you want that. I can tell you about them if you do, just in case, but I think liking someone can be very personal to each person and then catered further by the person being liked.

But it's also hard trying to find that line of "I like you as a friend/best friend" and "I like you as more than a friend/best friend." I think, for me, it comes down to how they make me feel. And maybe turning over the idea of being more than friends to see what it might feel like.

Yeah, I have.

My stomach gets all weird butterflies, and I get nervous, and I don't always know what to say. Like I want to say something really cool and smooth, and it sometimes comes out all wrong. But being around them is nice, and I'd like to just hang out even if it isn't reciprocated, but I get sad thinking it might not be. Because what if they don't like me? I'm nothing special. I'm just me. But what if they do like me? And I'll see things or do things and want to have them there. And I pay attention. That's important. Not creepy stalking, though. But you listen to them when they talk, and you notice things about them -- books they read, tv shows they enjoy, hobbies, etc., because you like them enough to pay attention. Or I do. And sometimes I notice things I wouldn't otherwise notice, like a change in hair style or a new top or the slight crease in their brow when they're deep in a good book, or the disaffected demeanor to keep people away, and how, sometimes, it drops for certain things or people or maybe it was up to see who would keep trying. And, sometimes, I have this subconscious awareness of their presence. Like I know they're there, over to the side. ~~but maybe that's the enhanced~~ And I've definitely caught myself staring (and others have, too, which is embarrassing). Because I'm just drawn to that person.

Does any of that make sense?

	I've definitely had that feeling before. ~~A few times.~~ It can be hard because you don't want to ruin the friendship if it turns out that you don't like each other like that, but you also want to be honest. I'm trying real hard to turn off the older sister part of my brain that wants to know who it is so that I can decide if they are worthy of you.

When I get crushes? I sort of think about them a lot. Like, probably more than I think about them. And sometimes my chest hurts when I think about that person. Like Robbie Williams.

And not knowing if you like a certain type? I don't think that's really a thing right? Cause life is weird and wonderful and you like what you like and that can change by the moment.

Lois is my best friend and I married her, so it works out sometimes. But I understand the feeling of uncertainty, it's scary, taking the first step. Maybe you could talk to this person? You never know, they might feel the same. I took Lois out for hot dogs. I'm not very good at flirting, so you might need to ask someone else about that.

As for liking a certain type.. I was surprised that Humans and Kryptonians were compatible. But it was a good surprise.
