Five and I are going to be busking on the boardwalk on Saturday morning if anyone wants to stop by and see us. It'd be cool if you did, but no pressure. I taught him "Cool Kids", which is hilarious charming hilarious, so at the very least you should come see that.

Also I found a super neat sand dollar today. In my beach bag. Still a mystery how it got there.

[Brooke, Darcy, Freddy, Nico, Hazel, Klaus, Tandy, Vanya]

Your local goblin spent the afternoon on the beach and I came home and made use of some little bottles that I had just sitting around. So I have things! For you!

Come by and pick them up when you have time. Or, Freddy, I can drop yours off whenever you want.

It's cool. Where're you from? You seem like you have experience with the busking? Do you play?

It is odd. Internet kid speak. A lot of things get shortened, abbreviated, turned into its own slang. Takes a while for someone to learn. And that's not even getting into emojis and emoticons.

Isle of the Lost. And, aye, I know how to play a few instruments. Really only know drinking songs and sea shanties...

Wut? Are ye in the cups? I dinnae get what ye are talking about.

Huh. Can't say I know a lot of sea shanties. Know a couple of drinking songs, though. Wouldn't mind hearing you play sometime if you're ever in the mood?

Exactly. And no, not in the cups presently. Strangely.

I am always in the mood to play. I dinnae exactly have any instruments here though.

Me either, been keeping me wits about me since arriving.

There's a thrift store down the way - or there usually is, when we're in Manhattan - that has a few acoustic guitars. I can take you by there when we get jumped back. In the meantime you can borrow mine?

Yeah, it's weird, isn't it? Being somewhere strange. Lots of folks are dealing with it or not dealing with it in different ways.

Ta. It would be much appreciated. What do ye want in exchange?

Wee bit. It is nicer than the Isle so I'm waiting on shite to go wrong. Figure might as well enjoy me freedom while I can.

Sea shanties, of course! And like I told Darcy up above, I also take payment in the form of shiny rocks, weird buttons, and skeleton keys. Or other weird things that magpie-people might like.

I won't lie to you, things have gotten weird here. In a not super good kind of way. But we pulled it together and helped each other out, and it was nice. You're not going to be on your own here.

Wut about a mermaid scale? I have a few ta spare here and there. Might also have the habit of collecting shinies.

...that is the bit that is hard to swallow.

Oh wow. Yes. I love mermaids! Unless they're actually horrible and then I'm willing to adjust my view of mermaids. But yes!!

Yeah. It wasn't too bad, though. And it didn't last long. The good heavily outweighs the bad.

Depends on the mermaid and where they hail from. Some are bonnie lasses and some are quite happy to drown a sailor.

Huh.

So just like normal people, then? Did you ever meet one named Ariel I hope you never ran into one of the drowning-types.

Aye. There are some off the Isle, but I charmed em. I'm too pretty ta drown.

Ah, well, if the mermaids think so, then it must be true!
