Who: Sam Winchester & Alan Wake
What: getting rid of Alan's darkness/the Taken.
When: Sunday, January 27th (backdated)
Where: Alan's house
Warnings: fighting, violence, supernatural-y things!
Ever since he'd found out what Alan was afflicted with, Sam had been in the library. Well, he was in the library anyway a lot of the time, when he wasn't joining people on patrol, sorting through the books that his previous-self had collected. It was fascinating, really, to see the way another Sam had organized everything in here and created his own system; it might not have made sense to anyone else, but Sam could practically see the thought process behind it. Everything was in a logical order, and it took him very little time to find the books he was looking for: he simply had to imagine where he would put it while sorting everything according to relevance, and so far, that was precisely where he had found it.
It was a little bit eerie, but at least he was fairly certain that this previous Sam had been in possession of his soul. Compared to the thought of the soulless version of him, a previous alternate Sam who had his soul was really not very disturbing at all.
So it hadn't taken him very long to find what he was looking for: exorcisms, summoning rituals, and binding magic. It had taken him longer to find the sort of lantern he was looking for, the sort that he thought might be suited to hold the kind of darkness that Alan had told him about. With a permanent marker, he'd carefully drawn binding symbols on the lantern to contain the weakened shadow.
Then, armed with the lantern, exorcisms (memorized, but also tucked into his pocket just in case Alan needed to be the one to read them), his shotgun, and a large flashlight, he headed over to the address Alan had specified. It was still light, as the man had suggested; he knew the demons or shadows much better than Sam did, and Sam was inclined to take his advice. Shifting the shotgun and lantern to one arm for a brief moment, he knocked, then readjusted his grip to be ready with both.
