Prompt/Summary: Severus had hoped for a quiet life, after the war was over. But thanks to a mislaid ruby, a peculiar old man and the irrepressible Harry Potter, it seems his plans might just have to change.
A/N: Well, my dear [info]alisanne, I’ve loved your fics for ages so it was great fun to write this for you. I tried to get in as many as your requests as I could. You wanted ‘romantic comedy with lots of snark and banter, sarcastic Snape (generally hiding some insecurities), outdoor!sex, desperate I can't keep my hands off you/got to have you NOW!sex, partially dressed sex, flirtation. Specific cliches I like are: slightly clueless Harry (although I do like him to be an adult who knows he wants Snape), accidental/forced bonding (as long as they are both secretly in lust/love), time travel, first time (how they get together, UST), magic rituals.’ *dies* Did I manage any of them? You’ll just have to read it to find out *g* I didn’t use your first two optional plot suggestions, this is your third option, time travel. I sooo hope you enjoy it!

Such a good fic! It hit so many of my buttons. It was so atmospheric, too, very cinematic. gorgeous. You nailed the characters so well, and Harry was utterly believable. Merlin was fascinating, the way he morphed and was ambiguously good. You also managed so much tension in the final scene, the virgin sacrifice in the setting winter sun. Lovely.

Wow, this was different and fun and altogether terrific! The time travel to Merlin's time, OMG, what could be more cool than that?! And it's just coincidence, right, that Merlin is the teeniest bit like Dumbledore, right down to the nosiness. I love Severus making him turn his back on them! Yayy for Snape's protectiveness.

But I also love how both Harry and Snape each take their turn being protective, and healing, and taking charge. That *rocks*! It makes their relationship so much more rich, and promising.

As well, I loved how you mixed humor and seriousness throughout. The emotional sense of who they were and where, and what they were going through, was very vivid and full as a result. The setting was amazingly clear - the forest, then Merlin's hut, and the ancient places - and there were so many brilliant details throughout! I really felt *in* this story.

I really almost hated for it to end, in fact - except that I so wanted to see the final scene. I fully expected it to be as dramatic and exciting as all the other high points that filled this fic ... and it was! The energy powering this story was one more aspect of its awesomeness. You wrote it, set it, plotted it out with an energy that did justice to all three of the powerful and energetic main characters. Kudos, and thank you for sharing this very fun story!

Oh lovely! Awesome setting, loved both their roles in this as well as their blossoming attraction (so much love for those heart clenching moments!). I also really liked the way Severus told Harry how he would have preferred their first time to go, the way he made Merlin look away. Nice work!

I really enjoyed this! It was such fun to have the mix of epic scope with the Arthurian background, and the light-hearted moment of Severus and Harry both learning how to flirt with each other and find places for each other in their hearts. Many lovely little moments, and the parallels between Merlin readying himself to mentor Arthur, and Severus teaching Harry, both of them dealing with very powerful students -- neat stuff!

I've been waiting for this one to post! I got a bit of a sneak preview and can't tell you how excited I was to see Merlin mixed in with my beloved Snarry. I think your Dumbledore-like version was much more genuine than the new BBC one and I loved the nod to the Arthurian legends. The ritual was nicely done and I especially loved those brilliant touches of humor. Really well done, hon!

Don't tell Accioslash, but I am a HUGE fan of Merlin (the real legend). I even took s course on Arthurian Literature in college and it was fascinating. Your story reminds me of some of the texts we reviewed. You somehow managed to infuse a very authentic sense of the Arthurian age, ad your descriptions were really well done. :)

Your Merlin rocked, btw! Ever changing, ever evolving, he was a lot of fun.

The magic theory was fascinating, and I enjoyed what you did with the ruby. Perhaps one of their kids will find it...

And then there is the SNARRY SEX! Mmmmmm. Delicious UST, scrumptious first time sex (outdoors! during a magical ritual!) and protective!Snape is a perennial favorite of mine, although it was nice to see that Harry had no problem taking care of Severus when he had to. *licks* Also, cheerful!Harry is so much fun, bless him.

That was awesome. Totally loved it. I did actually snort t this line though...You’d probably send us spiraling back to ancient Rome or something ridiculous like that great nod to TFP..I wonder how many other people caught it..was it on purpose?

I adored this! Time travel isn't one of my favorites, but I've finally figured out I like it better when the main characters go back to a time where they know noone. Well written. Left me wishing for more!!

I loved this so much. The humour was infectious, the banter between Severus and Harry wonderfully witty and when Severus eventually believed what Merlin was saying the camaraderie these two formed was just beautiful. Of course the wanking session was so hot and loved Harry's thoughts after that he had just had 'sort of sex' *giggles*. Severus was so tender and careing preparing Harry for the ritual, I just wanted to hug him *sorry Severus*.

A thoroughly enjoyable read, one to keep I believe :)

Such a wonderful story. Harry was so great, cheerful, innocent, sweet and sexy. And Severus was just unsure enough to make their coming together special. And I loved your reference to ancient Rome! Tempus Fugit!

Lovely, lovely Lucie! This was an interesting take on time-travel. I got a bit creeped out by Merlin at first. It had a total Yoda feel to it (in a good way) and really made the story original. And of course the sex was hot, as it always is.
