Prompt/Summary: Severus had hoped for a quiet life, after the war was over. But thanks to a mislaid ruby, a peculiar old man and the irrepressible Harry Potter, it seems his plans might just have to change.
A/N: Well, my dear alisanne, I’ve loved your fics for ages so it was great fun to write this for you. I tried to get in as many as your requests as I could. You wanted ‘romantic comedy with lots of snark and banter, sarcastic Snape (generally hiding some insecurities), outdoor!sex, desperate I can't keep my hands off you/got to have you NOW!sex, partially dressed sex, flirtation. Specific cliches I like are: slightly clueless Harry (although I do like him to be an adult who knows he wants Snape), accidental/forced bonding (as long as they are both secretly in lust/love), time travel, first time (how they get together, UST), magic rituals.’ *dies* Did I manage any of them? You’ll just have to read it to find out *g* I didn’t use your first two optional plot suggestions, this is your third option, time travel. I sooo hope you enjoy it!

Don't tell Accioslash, but I am a HUGE fan of Merlin (the real legend). I even took s course on Arthurian Literature in college and it was fascinating. Your story reminds me of some of the texts we reviewed. You somehow managed to infuse a very authentic sense of the Arthurian age, ad your descriptions were really well done. :)

Your Merlin rocked, btw! Ever changing, ever evolving, he was a lot of fun.

The magic theory was fascinating, and I enjoyed what you did with the ruby. Perhaps one of their kids will find it...

And then there is the SNARRY SEX! Mmmmmm. Delicious UST, scrumptious first time sex (outdoors! during a magical ritual!) and protective!Snape is a perennial favorite of mine, although it was nice to see that Harry had no problem taking care of Severus when he had to. *licks* Also, cheerful!Harry is so much fun, bless him.

I'm so glad you liked the inclusion of Merlin, I didn't realise you liked the legend so much, so that was a lucky happenstance. I've always loved the Merlin stories as I was born in South Wales, close to where Camelot was supposed to be and close to where Merlin was supposed to have come from. So I really enjoyed using Celtic names and the words written on the stone were in an old text translation that I found online. It was also good fun to have Severus be the chosen one for once!
